According to the College Football Matrix website (deep stats and numbers, LINK /), the team with significantly better recruiting in the previous 3 years wins 80% of the time regardless of other factors. Harsin's problem is that he has to play UGA, Bama, TAM, and LSU every year and is not recruiting anywhere near their level.

I despise the whole NIL deal but my point remains. AU can't "under recruit" and them coach 'em up and win in the SEC West.

If he doesn't start doing the things expected, he will be fired and not paid the full amount of his buyout. That means attending events, holding clinics and other duties customarily done by other similar head coaches. The language in his contract on that is clear.

The coaches attended a revival in Birmingham, all confessed their sins and asked for forgiveness, hugged and made up. Two even challenged each other to an airplane race as they left Birmingham International and the media covered that in one sentence. Face it, the media is fat and lazy. That’s so stupid even an Aub cannot be excused for saying it. While I do believe Harsin will be followed around by private investigators until the find “Cause”, Harsin is smarter than that. That’s why he told his assistants not to cheat. He saw what Fat Phil did to Pruitt and understands the game. Pressure to cheat and then cut you.
