Bama/neutral fans: was the championship officiated fairly?

When you win the game, it's easy to say "yeah that was called fair and square," but we all know how much Georgia fans complained about Tyler simmons, a missed facemask, etc. in 2017. wondering if there are similar plays that Bama fans point to in this one.

The refs in no way determined the outcome of that game. UGA won fair and square. Congrats.

Overall, I thought it was fine. Way, way better than the national championship game a few years ago - where the refs might as well have been wearing spiked shoulder pads and barking at people.

Every game has missed call some have bad calls. But I was taught that is part of the game. Next play. I don't blame the refs for a loss or a win.

There are always missed calls and calls that just don't go your way as others have stated here. As Bama fans, we don't normally complain about it because we know it is just part of the game.

For those that say the refs are on our side, we are one of the teams with the most penalties called against us in the SEC. Here are stats from last year:
LSU had the least per game with 4.5
Kentucky with 4.6
Auburn and Vandy with 5.3
Georgia with 5.4
USe with 5.8
Missouri 6.5
A&M with 6.9
Alabama had 7.0 per game.

Georgia won fair and square. Enjoy the National Championship, but know we are coming for ya next year.

Tuscaloosa,
Where is the pic of the Bama lineman false starting on a big play late in the game?

I had no issues with it. They were a bad crew, but we weren't screwed out of a win by any means. If anything they helped us a bit by ruling a borderline play a fumble apparently without having a clue that we inadvertently recovered it in bounds. We lost the game when Jamo got hurt. That's really all there is to it. Without a deep threat there was nothing left to keep the defense honest and the offense basically collapsed. I was surprised we still found a way to keep it close after that.

Only losers complain about officials. Y’all kicked our arse in the fourth quarter and that was the difference.

You won. Asking this sort of makes it seem like you feel the refs were slanted in your favor.

I didn't get that impression though.

They did and as T stated the refs had no major influence into the outcome... just the way you want it.

But I actually believed the ball bounced in Bama's favor during the game (can be a impact to team morale)

Bryce's early 'throw' could have been ruled and fumble very easily.

The ball that Stetson lost could have been ruled a pass or recovered out of bounds.

The refs (PAC12?) did a nice job for calling plays in real time and I appreciated that.

what an odd thread. The officials made several awful calls in bama's favor and if I really looked I'm sure we could find some bad ones that went our way too. I'm sure that no bama fan is going to point to officiating for why they lost though.

Looks like everyone thought it was officiated pretty fairly.
