Similarities between the two cases.

When we fired SG for violating his contract, he asked about his money. JJ: "I don't plan on giving you a dime, brother." (He was owed 1.35 million), we did finally settle for $100,000. "I regret to announce that earlier today I dismissed Auburn head baseball coach Sunny Golloway with cause. My commitment will always be to provide the best student-athlete experience in the nation, and we will not accept anything less.”

So, not sure it was ever said WHY we fired him, but I believe it was because he was a jerk to his players, etc.

Anyone else remember?

Mike Leach’s lawsuit with Texas Tech wasn’t resolved until last year.

being mean and not fitting it was what caused it but the for cause IIRC was things like allowing players to participate before being cleared by medical or complicance. I think there were also some compliance issues with some camps as well.

Oh shite I just figured it out. Pat Nix is close enough to the program and saw the hottie assistant and said he’s hit it so obviously Harsin would hit it.

Then he says something to Jimmy Rane and Rane says he wanted Steele last year anyway. Pat says to Rane I wish Harsin would have just benched Bo with the ankle injury the rest of the game. Evil Jimmy Rane says BINGO that’s it brother. He sent an injured player back in . We got ‘em. Then Bo makes a complaint to the AD when he transfers.

The last post was a stretch but the one prior Bo did have a broken ankle. Not sure that it was seen on X-ray was mainly just bullshitting but you never know.

I thought the for cause reason in Golloway being fired was because his son/assistant coach was dating/fricking one or more of the players.

That was true of the softball coach and the head coach knew about it.. Not sure Golloway's son was a baseball coach and certainly not dating/F&*% a male baseball player.

Still not as bad as letting a QB with a broken arm take snaps in a game...

agree but the point is you need that kid to tell you honestly how they feel. So the point I was making it people are blaming the coach for something that he is relying on the kid to let him know how he is feeling.

Dude did something happen that you no longer have an inside person? Used to always rely on your knowledge.

Oh yeah. Got the coaches mixed up. My bad.

Didn't Golloway do something like having workouts outside of the allowed timeframe set by the NCAA?

That was part of it too. I think the practicing players who had not been cleared and then deleting the video of the bullpen sessions was the bigger issue. There were several things.

Kansas Jayhawks had a similar situation with their football coach a few years ago. They had just renewed his contract the year before and his buyout was $3 million. The next season he had a bad year and they dug up some very minor NCAA infraction and fired him "for cause." The coach's contention was that they fired him because he had a bad year and just looked for an excuse not to pay his buy-out. He said that such a minor NCAA violation would have been no big deal if he was winning. (He is certainly right). So he took them to court.

Not that there would be anything wrong with that.

Again, as a UGA fan said on reddit, banging another dude is literally the manliest thing you can do.
