Mr. Hunter was recruited with the caveat that he "wasnt college ready", needed to get in shape, etc.

In other words he was fat and out of shape. So he came to Auburn and put on over 30 pounds of fat, didnt get playing time, and somehow its the coach's fault.

As a side note, and dont give me this hogwash its a tweet, anytime you send out correspondence of any type, you should be cognizant that it will be seen by 100s if not 1000s of people..... Do we still have academic requirements at Auburn?

We need more Wooten's and less Hunter's.

I also love this line of reasoning about "its different down here".

No, no its not, you put on your fcking helmet and beat the man across from you, just like they do everywhere else.

Now that these kids will be paid THEY ARE REALLY IN FOR A RUDE AWAKENING.

Nothing was enforced under Gus and Russell for the offseason. That fat tub of goo Lee would have never seen the field. The guys who can play at this level, who will do the work, will thrive if Harsin and Pitman stay around.

All you have to do is do what is asked. I've been running and lifting consistiently since college. I don't particularly like it, but I do it.

I'm not even getting into the back and forth of it.. but where did this "gained 30lbs after getting to Auburn" thing come from? His junior year in HS he was heavy, he lost weight his senior year and I haven't heard about it being an issue since until just now.

How many other redshirts did you hear about? This was Lee's MO coming out of HS. Its why Alabama didn't recruit him.

There is a story that during Pat Dye’s early days at AU he snatched up a tiny running back during a team meeting and proclaimed we can’t win with this. Essentially said he wasn’t big enough or tough enough to compete… this quote reminds me of that story. Poor us, we got treated like dogs and we weren’t good enough. Mr. Hunter, the results speak for themselves. You aren’t good enough or tough enough to win at Auburn. If you were, you wouldn’t be crying about how tough the coach was on you. To anyone bitching about Harsin being a hard arse, it takes a hard arse to drive out the entrenched pussy culture that has plagued our program for years. Hearing these former players cry about toughness is exactly why we get our shite pushed in yearly by the bamas, Georgia’s and LSU’s on a consistent basis. Real change isn’t pretty. Anyone expecting it to be is severely misguided

Pat Dye worked his players to death, but he loved every one of them as if he was their father. He was completely interjected in their lives. Harsin seems to be missing the key differentiator between being an a-hole, and being a strong leader. The fact that some of you boil Pat Dye down into "he yelled at guys and made them work 24/7" proves that you understand nothing about leadership.

Read the report about how Harsin would ignore players trying to apologize for mistakes, and then send his position coaches to tell them they're off the team. Real "alpha badass", right? If you're going to be a badass, at least have the balls to face the player yourself and deliver the news yourself, don't send your lackies to do your dirty work for you. He plays the act of being a "strong leader" without actually doing the work needed to encompass that. Any moron can yell and repeat catchphrases ("4th and 1 mentality").

He seems to put people into categories, and those categories dictate how he treats them. It's obvious that there are certain players that he likes, and they get "Good Harsin". He seems to completely shun or exile players that he doesn't like. This seems to also permeate to his coaching staff, where there seems to be some real strong bias. Can someone point out why Cornelius Williams was fired so abruptly? Apparently he wasn't doing a good job, but yet several of Harsin's own guys seemed to not do anything all year - so what's with the double standard? There are several from his own staff who do not meet his supposed standards of success, and yet they seem insulated. The Darren Uscher kid has botched so many thing its not even funny ("Merry Flipmas!"). He promoted Bert Watts to Assistant HC and that guy orchestrated the worst special teams seen at Auburn since god knows when, and he was completely invisible on the recruiting trail. His handling/judgment with regards to the OC opening also shows that his "process" is highly questionable, so this isn't some guy who has an infallible record of good judgement.

Yes boss, Harsin's 6-7 football team with repeated 2nd half implosions, coaching staff turmoil, recruiting failures, and staff hiring failures prove that this is ALL bullshite. Absolutely NOTHING is wrong. Don't forget players leaving who literally would have started next season (Ja'Varius Johnson).

He's doing an amazing job and everything is going according to his plan! He fired his OC two months ago and still doesn't have an established replacement, and that's part of his master plan.

Link?

Not arguing either way, just interested in the source of this.

ETA: NVM, just read the al.com piece where this claim originated.

I appreciate you capitalizing Mongoloid. My people thank you, but your takes are as psycho as I've ever seen. You were all Harsin up to week eight of the season. Then whoever you talk to on the road at your job switched directions.

Some of us are consistient. I don't know if Harsin is the guy. But the players in the program are being treated equally and there is accountability. That doesn't change with the lack of success. I'll say again hermano, we got #10 recruiting and #35 results with Gus. Maybe we get #20 recruiting and #10 results with Harsin.
