Think about this, Tank threatens to leave...and is given NIL money and stays.

Months, months before, Saban is on a recruiting trip and coaches gathering speaking event. He just mentions NIL and the huge sum Bryce is getting.

Texas A*M signs the highest rated recruiting class, and on signing day signs yet another high high 4 star DL to go with the other truckload they already have.

Now which ones look like schools understanding NIL???

This is not something the coaches even manage, its an entirely separate entity that manages all player contracts on one side and another division to manage fund raising on the other, be it sponsorships, donations etc.

Coaches identify the targets and the NIL company puts together the deals for the coaches to present.

Separately, you will also need another branch of recruiting coordinators and assts to keep in contact with those players who signed with another school, or ones who emerge we want (obviously through 3rd parties since you cant actively recruit another signed player). But you have to have this because the portal will become as important as free agency in the pros.

Its become a big business and you need someone like a Carmen Policy from the days of San Frans hay days. Not some retired football player who knows nothing about running a business.

Am I missing something? We have a stand-alone organization titled Auburn NIL.

State laws are also not helping Auburn right now.

Exactly right.

So is a Bruce Pearl marketing guru type out there as a CFB head coach? I ask this not to be rhetorical but Saban & Kirby are not liked the way Pearl is. Bruce acts like he loves EVERYONE and THAT goes a LONG WAY.

Jason Campbell has been put in charge of the university NIL department.
There's an Auburn NIL already set up.
There are bills being introduced in the Alabama legislature to change the restrictive laws hindering the NIL.

This org is nice to keep some of the current players happy but does not help landing the 5-stars. These top recruits want individual deals right away.

Yes, state laws are currently an issue but this should change soon?

We need the big boosters ti help with the NIL. We should have already set up jerseys for them

You also need a support time in house to ensure your current players are happy and not talking to opposing teams.

Not the same day and signing guys and being a hard arse ‘makin men out of boys’. Too many options

20 years ago, when paying players was illegal, Reggie Bush parents received a home worth 750K.

A&M says the 30million is bullshite......but they dont deny they paid, and wont give a number, so it probably was ONLY 29 million.

After what I just described, do you think Jason Campbell is capable of running such an organization? Wonder if Jimmy Sexton has a kid who would be interested lol! Seriously, you have to have someone capable of managing a large organization, able to converse with expertise to larger donors, understanding intricacies of contracts and budgets. You need someone who could be the general manager of an NFL team.

And Auburn NIL selling frickin autograph footballs of a losing team aint gonna spin off a whole lotta cash sorry to say.

I say again, we are putting new tires on our car and the A&Ms of the world are launching a Falcon Heavy.

It doesn’t matter anyway. Whoever let this shite show rumor mill start should be removed from anything AU. I’ll take some lower stars ready to give effort until this NIl gets sorted out. But we can’t because we lie about our coach having an affair

Campbell is not running it. A lawyer is but Campbell is the liaison for the football parto of it. I assume he I’ll work w the football players etc but it’s up to others in our NIL to get the funds into it.

Your OP tells me u haven’t done your homework on our NIL.

Maybe you should call Davison to get your questions answered not here.

Agree with this. With the new NIL every player should have a jersey you can buy with the proceeds going to them. I would also like to see our players be able to auction/sell used game equipment once it's not able to be used anymore. I could see someone like Tank or a future QB game jersey selling great.

And you make quite the assumption. But, since you brought it up, those who would grade themselves successful in this new age of NIL would be graded how? Since you think Auburn is so well organized, care to discuss the results, or lack there of?

And since "a lawyer" is managing it, Im certain its going to do just fine, know many lawyers? Care to discuss the success of this "lawyer".

As far as managing "the player" side of it, I would think someone with a background like a Jimmy Sexton, with decades of experience negotiating player contracts might be a wee, just a tad bit better than a former football player with zero experience.

But apparently you know far more about the NIL and its pending impact on college football than I, so you be you.

A little sarcastic and I apologize, but your response is right in line with most.....we put some new tires on the car what do you expect.....while that rumble down the road is A&M,GA, and AL firing up their Falcon Heavies.

But not to worry soon we can get a free haircut and record a song or two.
