quote:

"Bruce has done a really good job building that program up, now they are #1 in the country. He's got Auburn on the map. Bruce said to me before our game here, now this game means something, not just in Alabama but something nationally.....hopefully moving forward both these programs are nationally ranked, both playing for Final Fours and championships and this game continues to mean something on a national level.

quote:

"With our home game, it was a little unfortunate, our football team was in the national championship the night before and I think a lot of our fans were maybe still down there, hopefully we can sneak a few Alabama fans in there. That place is gonna be nuts. Hopefully we sneak a few Alabama fans in over there. That place is going to be nuts because they don’t seat many people. What does it seat? 8,000? Is that right? 8-10,000 and they’re the No. 1 team in the country, they’re going to sell the place out pretty much every night. That’s what they’re doing."

quote:

"It's a big game in the state of Alabama and a big game nationally, and that speaks to what Coach Pearl has been able to do over there at Auburn."

Nate Oats and Bruce are good for the rivalry and that full quote shows it was not meant as a dig.

They both clearly have legitimate respect for the other and their program/style, but want to kick the shite out of each other, speak their minds and have no problem being yankee assholes when necessary.

Oats has a way to go to match Bruce in terms of legacy/accomplishments, but they are exactly the type of guys football schools like Alabama and Auburn need to build consistent winners that invigorate their fanbases. Fun style, brash, completely secure in their style and methods, great recruiters.

I truly believe both of them when they say they want both programs to be good and make this game mean something every time it happens. I also believe they both want to kick the shite out of the other when the game does happen.

He was obviously complimentary in the rest of the interview. The part on AA still sounded like a subtle jab to me.

What would be a real subtle jab is if these two meet in the SEC Tournament and Bama sends them home. Think there would be some crane kicking going on?

So, one of your own players does the "crimson crane" towards the Auburn football team in Birmingham...basically trolling them (which rivals do).

But, when anyone from Auburn does it back to bama (since, you know, we are, like rivals and all), you cry like a bitch about it.

That is truly AUsome!!!

The thing is since that day UAT has really struggled at everything. It's almost like karma coming back to bite them.

Seems like karma has completely shut down your football program then.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world. The Regular Season Title is a much greater accomplishment and the end goal isn’t the SEC Tourney.

This year BAMA has beat 3 out of 4 final four teams from last year and a hand full of other top teams. We're also going to the tournament again. I know we aren't quite as good as last year, but at least we're going to the tournament in a down year instead of going 13-14.

This doesn't exist.

It's just rammer jammer, regardless of who does it.
