I say yes. It’s close between he and Muschamp, but I will give Steele the vote just because of how he held Burrow and that insane LSU offense to under 20 points.

Chizik was pretty good, wasnt going against the spread like today but he had some good defenses

I was in Thailand in 1988 before Satellite tv and before I was able to watch any American channels. I never really got into Auburn football until I started college in 97 so I will have to take your word for it.

Trust me it’s not close.
Think UGA defense against the run this yearand then 2 edge rushers that could get after the passer. Linebackers with size and speed crashing anything near them and safeties that would literally try to take your head off. Add on top very good corners.

7.2 points per game.

Bowden fired Hall in 95, I was a student…..and basically lied about inappropriate things he was doing. Truth be told Bowden just wanted to hire Oliver away from Bama
And yes to Garner, he was coaching TEs at AU under Bowden and when he fired Hall, Garner and Kurt Crain quit.

Coach Dye was good for laying an egg or 2 but we won 4 SEC championships and competed every yr.
