It was an awful year for hiesman candidates. They should have given to defensive player or a small school.

His better stats remark was about QBR. ESPN does have Stetson with the higher QBR....and a better yards per pass. I checked both. He was speaking about thsoe two specifically. It takes more than those to be the better QB, though.

Stetson had a good season and he should be commended for winning a title, but Bryce Young easily had a better season and looks like a better QB. Not much debate when comparing the individual players.

Hmmm, we must be looking at different places? These show Bryce with better QBR and pass percentage, not to mention way more TD’s, way more yards, and same amount of pics. I did not calculate yards per pass so not sure who has that. But whatever, stats really don’t matter. Was just pointing out what seemed to be a pretty glaring falsehood. Cheers

Maybe I am mistaking the categories? using your link (which is where I got mine) I show:
Young QBR-167.5
Bennett QBR-176.7
Am I mixing something up? (It has been known to happen.)
Also pass avg (another way ESPN says yards per attempt)
Young-8.9
Bennett-10.0
All other stats Young obviously blows Bennett away.
And that's why Lewis&Herschel specifically said those two categories.
Using that you can always extrapolate that out and reason that Bennett would have had more yards and TDs had he thrown as much as Young....
BUT, people who do that would be wrong. For a lot of reasons. Bennett's efficiency rating dropped when he threw more passes. His sweet spot was 20-25 passes.
More than that his Ints go up, etc for instance.
Also, had he thrown the ball more defenses would have adjusted to a more friendly defense against the pass, and that would have made his stats go down.
I could go on and on why Bryce Young is a better QB....but for a troll who wants to make a superficial case, that's what they would do.

Ahh hah! You were going off of RTG and I was going off of the 2021 QBR listed right at the top. Two rating systems that try to do the same thing.
Anyway, below is that entire sentence. I think the first part about “far better stats” is beyond incorrect (basically lying), and the QB rating is either true or not depending on which system you look at. At any rate, we’ve beaten this dead horse. Have a nice evening!

That part of the post is funny. Guy talks about Bennett being better but than brings up that WE (Georgia as a team not just Bennett) did so and so. Because Bennett’s individual performances in some of those related games were definitely worse than Young’s.
