Eh, I don’t hate him as much as you guys do. Good for him for standing alone and being consistent. Honestly, if I were betting $1,000 on Auburn against teams on a neutral court, there would probably be a few teams I would also believe that would probably beat Auburn.

I don’t believe there are 8. Maybe 4-5? Not 8.
He’s narrow minded.
But give him credit for putting it out there.

He probably thinks Gonzaga would be favored despite bama handling them on a neutral court then us beating Bama on their own court 
I don’t really care if he’s consistent, he’s wrong to put us 9th. Put us 3rd or 4th? Maybe, but 9th is laughable

This guy is a hack. He thinks Houston (who lost two of their best players) would beat Auburn on a neutral court. His reasoning is ridiculous.

If he’s not consistent with it then fine.
But I don’t see why people are all of the sudden upset about predictive models. Isn’t that what everyone loves about football? Everyone loves saying who “the best 4 teams” are for the CFP even though that’s all based on subjectivity and not even based on an analytical model.
Personally, I hate having meaningful polls based on what people think would happen on a neutral field. I’d much rather go with resume of what you’ve done on the field. What I think about your team should have no bearing on who gets to play for a championship.
I just don’t like people switching back and forth when it benefits them. Pick a method you’re in favor of and stick with it.
Also the AP doesn’t give guidelines for how to rank teams.

Predictive polls are far from perfect. They are A source of info, not the only source. That’s my problem with the guy that voted Auburn 9th.

I just read something where a voter said they don’t get guidelines so I guess they don’t do a great job of communicating it
That’s as general as it gets and I don’t really see how you can even challenge how using the model doesn’t fit that guideline.
AP poll and coaches poll are already meaningless. And this is just one voter. The models are actually used in seeding.

So here's his top 8, I'm assuming he thinks all these teams would be favored over Auburn on a neutral court
1. Gonzaga
2. Baylor
3. Villanova
4. Houston
5. Arizona
6. Purdue
7. Kentucky
8. Kansas
We'd definitely be favored of Houston. We'd be favored over Baylor right now after they dropped 2 straight at home. I think we'd be favored over Villanova. Auburn would damn sure be favored over Kansas right now, him and Jrvdmac from tRant are the only two homers dumb enough to think otherwise. Auburn might be the only team who matches up well enough to possibly be favored over Gonzaga.
We'll see about Kentucky soon enough. After what they did last week it's possible they'd be a narrow favorite ok a neutral court. Purdue and Arizona I could also see being favored, but those could go either way.

I’m not pissed. I’ve had fun watching Auburn Twitter mob today. I just think it’s a guy trying to be the smartest guy in the room without really understanding the difference in predictive models and polls. A team with the best resume this far into the season with a top 20 offense and defense by all the metrics he claims he studies, isn’t a 9th ranked team. Ignoring the weak arse schedules played by Gonzaga, Arizona, and even Duke is confusing too.
I wouldn’t be surprised if those weak schedules hurt those teams come March.

It should be simple…. Polls should be based on what has happened… metrics like Kenpom are trying to predict potential future matchups. Mixing the two is silly.
