Also that Pruitt is coming back not as DC.

Boz came through on Marrone gone. We should expect to hear news about BOB in next few days .

As far as Pruitt, we haven't heard much but Boz was on spot.

I’d love to have Pruitt around again but I doubt he gets hired anywhere until the NCAA stuff is finalized.

I don't think it's really a big surprise... Anyone paying attention to Saban knows that Doug would be gone, one way or the other .. his squad was simply underperforming.

We are frustrated with coach boob.. You have to think the best in the NFL see the idiocy too. Why would they want him?

NFL offenses are different. Less creativity, trickery, eye candy etc. At that level it’s just about executing better than your opponent. College game is more wide open, more holes to exploit on defenses. Need a college guy like Lane or Sark to really maximize offensive talent. No more NFL OCs please. BOB needs to be gone just like Marrone, who may just be the worst hire of the Saban era. Dude was shamefully bad. Had to bring Pendry out of retirement to try to salvage his train wreck of an effort. Hopefully lesson learned there.

Eric Wolford has accepted the @AlabamaFTBL OL job after just one season at @UKFootball and will replace Doug Marrone, who’s expected to return to the NFL, sources tell ESPN. BamaOnLine first reported Alabama was targeting Wolford. Marrone was previously HC for Jags and Bills.

Just two days ago you mocked the idea anyone wanted them.

Now you're saying not a big surprise.

Might want to google before making statements that are easily disproven.

This is absolutely false.

They are different but you have to be more on your game and not less creativity wise, scheming people open, etc.

I'll break it down....
I am surprised that anytime wants him after the horrible performances of his squad. BECAUSE of that performance, it's no surprise he's gone. I figured he'd just be fired... Not actually hired by anyone. Make sense?

Marrone's coaching style didn't mesh with Alabama's style. It's more of NFL level coaching style. He didn't develop the OL this past season. Not only that, He hasn't had stellar coaching career oN NFL level. Marrone only came to Alabamba because of BOB's relationship with him. So yeah, No body wants him as HC, but as OL.. he get 1 or 2 more shots... before he back coaching on college level.

If he’s going to Denver, he has a prior relationship with their new coach.

I think he may do well enough in the NFL but he's clearly not capable of doing the bottom-up teaching required in college.

Alabama has had some mediocre OLs under Saban but it usually felt like it was a player experience problem not a player development problem. This was clearly a player development problem because they were returning a decent amount of experience but the unit never came together.

This. That whole thing was totally 8nvented by UT to get rid of Pruitt and not pay a buy out.

I do think the OL was a bigger issue than his playcalling, but he also didn't do a lot to help the OL in terms of calling some screens or draws to keep pass rushers and blitzes honest.
I downvoted you by accident but I totally agree with you, BOB wasn't terrible but he lacked creativity especially during times when the opposing team had affected our gameplan.

Hell, I think the only reason they hired him was to poach Alabama because they'd already bungled the hiring process so badly that a good hire was not in the cards.

I also think the school openly ratting themselves out was explicitly intended to save them money when firing Pruitt and to take him out of the coaching pool so he couldn't go coach defense at Alabama or UGA.

The story straight out said the University partnered with the NCAA and self reported level 1 and 2 violations.

The only thing not done was a release of the results and an NCAA ruling. It took what, 3 years for the hoops stuff with LSU still pending? Expecting anything from the NCAA in a year isn’t realistic.
