The Eagles used their first selection in the 2021 NFL Draft on wide receiver DeVonta Smith and their second on offensive lineman Landon Dickerson. Smith is Philadelphia’s leading receiver. Dickerson has spent most of the season at left guard, even though he didn’t begin practicing with his new teammates until Aug. 30 because of a knee injury.

Hurts, Smith and Dickerson are Alabama alumni.

“I think there’s a different aura around Bama guys,” Hurts said on Tuesday, “and how we operate and where we come from and kind of the standard we have for ourselves and what we’ve been around. That’s a testament to a great winning culture at Alabama, coach (Nick) Saban and the foundation he’s laid for all of those athletes to come through. I think we just kind of try to lead by example.”

Here's to the next round of players (both on the field and off) coming through the system.

PS - Because this board is swamped with LSU (and a few OU) fans: I relish any and every downvote.

Here is the key to me. It's a mindset, work ethic and they trust and believe in their coach and his system.
He has built a winning culture at Alabama, and that is hard to beat.

Even after he decides to leave I expect Alabama to win for another 2-3 years until those deteriorate.....assuming it does at all. That will depend on who is brought in. But whoever it is, it won't be Nick Saban so there will have to be some kind of drop off. Just my opinion.

Gosh, they just overcome so much adversity. How do these kids keep succeeding on this semi-pro team playing in the NCAA?

So Jalen Hurts considers himself a Bama guy.

I’ll allow it.

The Big Lebowski: What makes a man, Mr. Lebowski?
The Dude: Dude.
The Big Lebowski: Huh?
The Dude: Uh...I don't know, Sir.
The Dude: Uh... I don't know, Sir.
The Big Lebowski: Is it being prepared to do the right thing, whatever the cost? Isn't that what makes a man?
The Dude: Hmmm... Sure, that and a pair of testicles.

A former Bama player’s opinion on Bama players is not exactly an objective source. What else did you expect him to say, Dumbass? I don’t disagree that Saban builds mental toughness but it also helps that Bama signs the best talent almost every year so odds are greater they will succeed. That’s the trouble with you Bama fans, you are the perfect blend of arrogance and ignorance. Bama can do no wrong LMAO.

NFL doesn't care about players from Bama, or any school for that matter. They care about the individual and if they can play at an elite level.
