I am super hyped and stressed TF out. I just want it over with.

With all your success, do you still get this way as fans or is it just routine now?

This year is a little different, because nobody really expected us to be here anyway - so it kinda feels like playing with house money. Excited as hell to be here but won’t be devastated if we lose. But to answer your question, yes, the week leading up to the game is generally anxiety filled. That’s what makes it fun. If it didn’t mean anything, it wouldn’t be fun to win, and it wouldn’t suck to lose.

Both fan bases are very fortunate to experience those emotions.

I only get nervous on GameDay and no matter who is on the other side of the field.

I hate to say this but no. In a strange Way it’s kinda like being a player. I get a little nervous before kick but I’m fine the rest of the time. After the game is kicked I settle down and get involved in the game.

Not really but I get why you feel the way you do. I remember the day of the 2009 SEC Championship, it was my daughters fifth birthday party and I was sick to my stomach and so stressed about the game. I mean I got to live through Bama creating the greatest college football dynasty ever and it will almost certainly never be created again so I am grateful. Who ever the losing team is on Monday night the fans will be disappointed some it will take weeks to get over others maybe a few hours but whichever side it is they will get over it. Life will move on

Have to admit it isn't as exciting as it was at first. The first 2 - 3 times we played for it, I could get hyped to nausea as the game came near. Now, it's like any other "big" game. This year is really like that because I never expected us to get to the NCG, so it's like playing with house money.

I agree with Tuscaloosa.

Typically, it is nerve-wracking from NOV forward.

But, this year has been incredibly enjoyable knowing we've overachieved and still beat an all time great SEC team for the SEC Championship.

Very glad for Bama to be playing in the finals and am extraordinarily proud of the work this team put in to come together down the stretch and when it mattered most.

A NC would be great, but it truly is house money right now. UGA could win by 35+ and it won't take away that drive at AU or punching the eventual champs in the face in their home state for a conf title.

That said, I'm sure the nerves will settle in this weekend as it all becomes more real.

P.s.: Monday night college games suck

Not nervous or worried at all. I stopped worrying Jan 4 2007. The day we hired St Nick.

I am just as excited about Alabama possibly winning another NC, as they never get old. During my life I have seen Alabama win 3 NC in person, and Alabama has won more than 3 since then.

I have a tendency to pace during games, and if the game is really close I head out the door and walk the neighborhood. I guess it is me being superstitious.

It's sad really. I don't get nervous over any games anymore, nowhere like I use to and don't know when it stopped.

Not so much until NC game day morning---then
the anticipation mounts but as an older guy, I
don't get too bent out of shape over the game.
I don't think it has anything to do with winning a
lot, rather mellowing with age.
Just very appreciative of having lived through
the Saban era of Alabama football---and that
there's still more left. It's been a ride.

I'm in chill mode up until game day.
Then My buddy Jack D keeps me company
But full of anxiety. With all the
Guys we lost this was unexpected. Next year was more predictable so even if we lose the loss want sting as bad. Happy to be here

The only Natty game that I can remember being nervous and really worried in the days leading up to the game was the 2018 game I think it was. Tua was hurt along with the whole defense just about it. Bama done a great job just to make it to that game but in the week leading up to that game I just had a sick feeling all week. Other than that game then I would have to go all the way back to the Texas Natty game that I can remember just being super nervous all week before the game.

I know all of this is going to end soon. So being able to see this run in my lifetime is really something special. I used to have anxiety before games, now I'm relaxed, nervous Yeah but I have a calm confidence that Nick has left no stone unturned he's got it..lol

It's far easier to deal with the ups and downs when "we will win it all next year" is typically accurate

Would you rather UGA not be in this game and therefore you arent nervous? Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Absolutely. Don't feel bad. This year isn't so bad because I didn't 'expect' for Bama to be back at the dance.

It's incredibly difficult to weave through the SEC (especially west) schedules. The odds of getting to the national championship is tough.

Be proud your team has made it. No flukes, no issues (other than internal fan-made about Stets vs JT) - they've marched straight through to the end. Huge accomplishment.

My brother, smartest man I know, who received his doctorate from Alabama can't even watch the games for the stress. Doesn't matter who you are.
