I think the NCAA will change that going forward. They kind of have to with the trend towards everyone opting out. They just weren’t going to do it for us.

Letting O finish the season was incredibly stupid and it was obvious at the time of his firing.

Bruh, it started like 26 plays to 3.

It was never going to be a victory, but they didn't flee.

I’m not sure how much O staying on really mattered. The program was dysfunctional either way. I personally would have liked to have run his arse off, but not much would have changed.

Yeah if they had fired him it’s fairly obvious many of these players would have opted out sooner and the season would have really gone to crap.

Because you would have beat Alabama and Arkansas with better coaching for two reasons. And not nearly as many guys would have quit. Keeping him so long tanked your program.

Proud of these kids but I’ve seen enough. Time to Cobra Kai. Have a good night everyone.

Plus there was a feeling they didn’t have someone they felt comfortable naming as interim coach.

Kudos to all the players on LSU and their fans tonight. Depleted and out-manned, and yet they showed up to play one last game for the univeristy they committed too years back. To me, that shows character. Kudos to their fans for attending the game as well.

So you know they would have beat Bama and Arkie if they ran off. Really the argument goes the other way. Once they fired Ed, they actually played pretty solid football. Almost best Bama, should have best Arkansas and beat 8&4feit.

They were clearly afraid the players would rally around an inexperienced/unqualified assistant and that people would call for that person to stay on permanently. I mean that's how O got the job.

But it was obvious that the players hated Orgeron and so it was equally a mistake to keep him so long and drive talent that was already on the team away.

Herbstreit called it the night of the championship. He said the future at LSU with O looks bleak,
