SEC teams in the title game who didn't win their conference are 2-0 in National Championship games and 3-0 in playoff games.
All other teams who didn't win their conference are a collective 0-2 in National Championship games and a whopping 0-3 in playoff games.

Want to think Kirby will make adjustments from SECCG.
But

What was the name on the jersey of these teams that won the NC without winning their conference?

Alabama is 2-0 in title games after winning a semifinal in Arlington.

the thing that gives me hope is 2017. He made adjustments from Auburn to the SECCG.

Adjustments include not playing the game at Auburn and Kerryon Johnson playing with a bum ankle.
All joking aside, team looked very different defensively in the second matchup. I expect this game to be quite a bit different for UGA - doesn't mean we will win but it wont be 41-24 again. Maybe a 27-24 type of game.

Georgia has to have 3 completely different game plans that force the Bama adjustments Georgia wants.
Make Saban and Co. adjust prior to the half. Then, whip out a completely different look in the last 10 minutes of the first. When the 2nd half starts, break out the 3rd look.
That's what Fisher did. That all that will beat Saban.
An added benefit is being low on the Alabama radar, so it makes Georgia's task much harder.

These are the kinds of stats that cause dumb people to lose bets.

And what were the names of those teams?
I’ll give you a hint…

The last game was a blowout and there’s no reason to believe this one won’t be either.

Is the Georgia secondary suddenly going to be good in coverage, will Jordan Davis suddenly be well conditioned? Bama is going to be throwing right at them again and going 100mph

Georgia won’t win because 1980. It must live on.

Did he adjust Kerryon Johnson's ankle?

Cannot wait to beat the frick out of Alabama. It was an 11 point game late in the third quarter against Cincy. We're going to absolute fricking destroy those annoying arse gumps.
I hate Alabama and their annoying arse frat boy fanbase. They all look like Brody Croyle and John Parker Wilson clones.

Jimbo is smart though.
Monken is a good coordinator but I'm not sure he has that much control, otherwise do we really think Stetson Bennett was the QB he wanted?

Because we are better than Alabama. We let them win in the SEC championship. It’s called the rope a dope.

Interesting take- The year AU went undefeated and got left out, UGA had a monster team. Van Gorder was DC and we stuffed whatever was working in the 1st half. AU had a great 1st half on O, came out in the 2nd with an entirely different attack. Had us on skates all night and won handily. One of the really great coaching performances I've witnessed.
And UGA's history shows you are right. Whatever we've done in the 2nd half vs. Bama we should do the opposite.

Yeah, it’s Kirby. But Bama having BOB as OC evens it out now. I don’t know how Bama dominated in the SECCG, but doubt that performance will be repeated.
