But at some point everyone will realize it’s because of BAMA that coaches have a chance at being the goat.
Keep seeing these “when Saban leaves y’all are screwed” threads.
But the truth is, we did it for Bear, we did it for Nick, and we will do it again for some other guy.
We will have our ups and downs, that’s just a fact. But make no mistake, there will be another guy.
Happy New Year and a Roll Tide!

We would still be living in the past if all the stars didn't align to get Saban when we did.

No. Just, no.
Saban has proved something that should be appreciated. Plenty of coaches - especially those at top tier power schools - have proven they can put together a good team on a cycle while not sinking more than a couple wins on a season while they get the next big run ready to go.
Nick Saban is the Henry Ford of college football. He's shown something that should be studied, to the Nth degree. He's shown how you consistently stay on top - with a rotating schedule of players. The man is literally a brilliant manager. Absolutely brilliant.
He did it in Tuscaloosa. Frankly, he could have done it anywhere. Enjoy having him. Start pouring the footer for the golden statue.
His talent - and I don't even know if he knows the term - is Operations Management. He's off the charts at it.

They aren't talking about Bama's ability to win the conference or even championships. That has and will continue as you state.
They are talking about the pure dominance and near forgone conclusion of a CFP/BCS championship before the season starts no matter the turnover in staff or personnel.
It is like no other football dynasty beyond some of those incredible lesser division runs like Mt Union.
Bama lucked into two once in a lifetime coaches to go along with and build upon a strong tradition of more sporadic success.
Bama will be Bama beyond Saban, but it is foolish and a disservice to the next HC, to expect what we have now.
Plus, the time clock on his tenure gives the rest of the conference hope.

Just STFU. There was a decade between Thomas and Bryant, 25 years between Bryant and Saban. The school name may have helped hire Saban, but the name didn't do much between 1982 and 2008, or between 1946 to 1958 either.
God has not passed h[s hand over Alabama football. No, it was good hires by men, and unwavering support by other men, during a time other schools had yet to understand the value of a championship football team. When the school suddenly decided for a short period of time that football was too important, we ended up with Bill Curry... a hire eerily similar to many at other schools.
I was in Tuscaloosa at the end of Coach Bryant's tenure and listen to that shite, thought it ignorant and entitled then. That is what it sounds like now.

I agree that Bama contributes, but if it was just Bama, the top tier list of GOAT coaches would include:
Bill Curry
Gene Stallings
Mike Dubose
Mike Price
Dennis Franchione
Mike Shula
Y’all fricking hated them (except Stallings after your PTB ran him off).
So odds are, whoever follows Saban, and for decades after, will be subpar and turn you into the most obnoxiously frustrated fanbase in the country.

Agreed. Nick Saban didn’t make Alabama, Alabama made Nick Saban. Bama had 12 national championships before he got there.
Look at it like Ohio State & LSU right now. There was Tressel, then Urban, now Ryan Day, all playing for or winning national championships. Saban, then Les Miles, then Coach O, and now Brian Kelly played for or won some natty’s. This is because they are football schools, and not going anywhere.
Saban will leave Bama soon, it’ll be an adjustment, but Bama isn’t going anywhere. We’ll continue to be a national power just like the other football schools.

It's the combination that produced consistency, but only made possible by the GOAT. He's the X factor, not Bama.
Bama will likely remain a top tier team after Saban is gone, but there are several of those every year. Finding someone that can come in and replicate Saban's consistency is 100% a crapshoot since there isn't another coach that has done it.

You will get down voted by Bama haters but your analysis is correct. Bama is one of a handful of programs that have a mystique that coaches see as an easier path to reach the pinnacle.
