I keep seeing mention of Bama injuries / outages for the championship game. I saw about Ekiyor...were there others?

Asking because I don't think Georgia has much of a chance if we play the same team we did in Atlanta

Do you not recall John Metchie tearing an ACL in the SEC title game?

Chris Owens left the game late with an injury. Haven’t heard an update.

You’ll have to look at it this way.

Bama can beat you 8 times out of ten.

You might get one of those two in the final.

Battle was banged up but stayed in the game. Henry Tootoo played with a hyperextended knee. Owens left with an ankle injury very late in the game as we were running out the clock. There's an initial report that none of the injuries are expected to be serious (which would be a nice change). After the game, Saban addressed only Ekiyor (shoulder) but wasn't very specific. The impression was that it (Ekiyor) wasn't serious, but would have to be monitored up until the NC game.

I forgot to mention that Jameson Williams got banged up, but went into the tent. I never heard what it was, though. He came out of the tent and was fine. Not sure if they shot him up with something or not.

Sources reporting all injuries fairly minor and all should be back for Indy. The loss of Metchie though, can't be understated. That's a game changer.

Yes, it's very big. I get so tired of it. We've had so many since the second half of 2016. Really, last year was the only year it hasn't been pretty bad. And we still lost Waddle halfway through the season and Dickerson for the playoffs. Injuries are a part of the game, but since 2016, it seems like we've consistently had more of them than the other top competition. We're due about 5 years of not so much as a hangnail.

Starting corner and LG but the biggest loss was John Metchie. He had 97 yards and a TD in one half of play against Georgia. His absence was glaring yesterday.

Oh yeah. Forgot about JAD, too. Not heard a thing. Khyree should be just fine if JAD can't go, though. He's beginning to figure out the playbook and his upside is off the charts.

Yeah JAD’s injury made him a liability yesterday. A hip injury is devastating for a corner.

It was mentioned a shoulder injury.

I have no problem with playing first stringers on special teams....we do the same. but with what happened to Waddle and already missing Metchie, I would be leaning more to letting someone else return kickoffs and saving Williams.

Not it wasn't. Not at all.

What you saw last night is simply what competent teams do to opponents that run 3-3-5/3-2-6 defenses - line up, smash them in their face, and take their lunch money. Bama only attempted 28 passes compared to 47 runs.

The other team Bama played that runs the same scheme is Ole Miss (Top 10 and in the Sugar Bowl). Bama ran the ball 50 times and threw 26 passes with Metchie having 3 catches for 35 yards.

The guy that took Metchie's place led the team in receiving yards with 66 last night. The question will be can he and the others continue to produce against a team that doesn't concede the run.

The disruptions in the passing game were not by design. Williams being the short yards receiver was not by design either.
Brooks and Slade combined for 97 yards for the game and most of Brooks yards came on one play when he was covered by a safety.
The truth is these guys got jammed a lot and could not get open. Throw in pass blocking stunk but this was not by design, no I disagree.

Metchie is the biggest, Josh Jobe, Jalen Armour Davis(both starting corners) Emile Ekiyore RG. That is since SEC CG. Prior to game Chris Allen, McClelland, Roydell Williams. Bamas been a mash unit all year.
