Freshman year
October 20, 2018 - Smoke lowers the shoulder to initiate contact against Ole Miss. Ultimately the penalty was overturned (probably incorrectly)
LINK
Sophomore year
September 14, 2019 - Smoke gets targeting against Kent State. Upheld
LINK
Junior year
October 3, 2020 - Smoke gets ejected for targeting against UGA, lowering the crown to initiate contact to the head
LINK
Senior year
October 9, 2021 - Smoke is ejected for targeting against UGA.
LINK
November 14, 2021 - Smoke called for targeting against MSU. Overturned
LINK
December 28, 2021 - Smoke has two targeting penalties, one overturned. Gets ejected the second time, putting Auburn out of great field position, and seemed to bask in it on the sideline
Did I miss any?

What better way for his last game and play at Auburn.

It seemed like Smoke was always either getting tossed for targeting or lucking into a pick six.
Smoke catches a lot of shite (a lot of it deserved) but that guy loves playing football. And he seemed like he loved playing football for Auburn. For better or worse, he will always be remembered fondly by me for his time at Auburn.

I'm gonna miss Smoke. He had issues in the secondary at times, but he played hard and he loved to hit.

He will definitely be missed

I’m glad to see him go. He was always too much of a liability for unsportsmanlike penalties and targeting.
Yesterday’s targeting penalty contributed greatly to us losing the game.

He loved to hit guys who are defenseless or vulnerable. Go back and watch him closely on plays where he's head-up on an attacking ball-carrier (ie: not a guy who's in the middle of trying to catch the ball or turned around) and you'll notice that his approach to the ball and effort are completely different.

He nailed a couple of RBs coming up between the tackles are short yardage situations, including that big back of Houston. Nailed him in his tracks.
But seeing and his history of personal fouls, tells me he never learned to correct that problem.
And if he makes it to the NFL, he will end up paying more fines for targeting hits, than he will make in compensation.

Two of the things I don’t like about modern football are the ridiculous targeting rules and players skipping the bowl game.
I have to give him credit for not only playing 1970’s style safety, but for playing at all yesterday.

If targeting was around in the early 2000s I wonder what Junior Rosegreen’s rapsheet would look like.
There has to be some guys that still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about going across the middle in Junior’s crosshairs

Considering he missed many halves of football due to targeting, we've been preparing for this day for a while.

They don't get tossed in the NFL. They incur a personal foul penalty and if deemed to be excessive, the NFL takes pocket money.
