What happens to bowl money?

Not sure if this has been talked about but does A&M still get the bowl money since they were invited or you have to play in it?

I should have worded my question better. I’m asking is the conference gets a certain amount of money per team it sends to a bowl from the ncaa. No matter if it’s the Nola bowl or sugar bowl.

No, the Conference gets bowl payout (less univeristy expenses), media monies,and a variety of other associated marketing revenue.
Aggie forfeited all of the money, which would have gone to the Conference and is distributed equally to all members.
The bigger question is, how many Aggie fans are stuck with flights, hotels and tkts to see Rutgers play. That's who Aggie should reimburse

Why would they not pay Rutgers? The bowl still gets television and attendance revenue.
