Right at the start of bowl season....ESPN carrying all of the bowls. YTTV is about to lose a mega frick ton of subscribers.

I’m going to give it a couple of days. Hopefully people blowing up their phones and/or canceling YTTV will help force an agreement. I just left Hulu this year and I’m not going back. Not going with DirecTV Now either. So, I wait.

Is streaming really that much cheaper than Dish, or DirecTV? I've priced streaming services over the past couple of years, and they don't seem that much better than your regular (non-streaming) type of programming providers.
I have two residences (house and deer camp), so I'm sort of locked into Dish since I can have Dish at my house and also run one at no extra charge at my 5th wheel camper (deer camp).

I don’t think this is going to change. ESPN will probably start cancelling all contracts with cable/satellite providers. It will allow them to just sell espn+ without having to sell it with your cable subscription. Probably double their prices while they are at it.
Not combining with a provider will allow them to make all the profits, they are already having to put out all the servers.

Streaming probably isn’t cheaper today versus a couple of years ago when I cut the chord. They’ve ALL gone through price increases. Depending on what streaming service and channel you choose, it could be possible. But. If you’re internet is fast enough, the quality will be significantly better.
I had DirecTV before I left, started out with Hulu with Live TV for about a year, plus my Roku with Netflix, Prime, etc. I liked the streaming, but always hated Hulu’s UI. Jumped to YTTV earlier this year and love it. Still have Netflix, Prime, even kept the Hulu basic plan for $6.99/mo for some old shows I’m still watching through.
Cut the cord for the better quality TV. And once you get accustomed to the navigation, you’ll probably love your Roku (or whatever you choose) better than cable as well. I would never go back.

Doubt it. Dish and CBS were locked out most of football season.

No contract and you can change services with a few clicks. I've been streaming-only for several years now and will never go back to cable.
This is Disney/ESPN's fault, imo. I now expect these things to happen when contracts are up. Although the SECN is the only reason I have YTTV, I hope they tell ESPN to frick off, because I'm sick of the high price and subpar service.

Doing a fubo free trial for a week if YouTube hasn’t fixed this shite within a week I’m canceling and going with fubo permanently

Content is getting more expensive and all of the media groups are raising prices. Dish was without Sinclair stations for pretty much the entire football season. (Mid August to Mid November)

Depends on how you do it.
If you are trying to replicate a satellite package probably not.
If your only going to pay for the 2 or 3 channels you actually watch on that package, then yes.
The Disney+ bundle is $15 a month which gives you Disney+ ESPN+ and Hulu. Amazon prime gives you that channel with free movies, ability to rent/buy movies. If you know someone who actually pays for Netflix, you can use there username/password.
If you know someones DirecTV or dish username password, you can download and log into what ever channel you want that to they have.
We watch more of regular YouTube than anything as people with go pros are producing more creative and entertaining shows free to watch than the majority of the stuff on dish/cable.
I pay for Disney+ and prime, but have all of the above. I use Amazon frequently, so the shipping pays for the membership.

Switched to Hulu a while back, glad i did because of this.
The interface for hulu however, is rotten arse. Absolutely garbage on my ATV4k and 2019 Shield Pro.

Its back on...just got this in my email.
We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal with Disney to return their content to YouTube TV while preserving a $64.99/mo. price for our members. We’ve already started to restore access to Disney networks like ESPN and FX, including their live and on?-?demand content, as well as any recordings that were previously in your Library. We will also be turning on your local ABC stations over the course of the day. Don’t worry, your personal preferences and recommendations will be just as you left them.
As we promised a $15 discount while the Disney content remained off platform, we will still honor a one?-?time credit for all impacted Base Plan members.
For active members who have not yet received that $15 discount on their monthly bill, you will automatically receive this one?-?time credit on your next bill with no action needed. Note that your bill in Settings will not reflect this credit until you have been charged. Members who are in a paused state will receive this credit one month after their first charge. Verizon?-?billed users will automatically receive this as a one?-?time discount of $15 on their next bill. After that, the monthly price will revert back to $64.99 for new and existing members.
For any of you who were impacted and have initiated the cancellation process, we will still honor the one?-?time $15 credit on your bill if you resume your membership before you lose access. Visit tv.youtube.com/membership and click ‘Add’ to return the Base Plan to your membership. Note, you will still see a $64.99 price upon re?-?activating your membership, but a one?-?time discount will be reflected in your next bill.
We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience as we continued to negotiate on your behalf. We also appreciate Disney's partnership and willingness to work towards an agreement.
As always, thank you for being a YouTube TV member.
