Back in the day, he would have gotten away with a lot of shite and everyone would say how great of a coach he was. Kinda like Woody Hayes except way slimier and more of a sociopath. The world used to be full of good men but that's no longer the case. He's a disgrace to his family and Buckeye and Gator fans.

You can feel this way about him personally but nothing he did on the field warrants “dirtbag.” Professional athletes are all primadonnas. If the coach isn’t supported by the Owner and GM then the players will always kill the career of a hard nosed coach.

Oh I do.

And just so you're aware, the things you do off the field translates into what you do on the field.

You can be a dirtbag and still appear to win but it all catches up to you just like it clearly did for Urban Meyer.

Hahah nice qualification. Be a slimeball in every aspect of your life, but hey, it was not on the field!

I think a lot of football coaches are dirtbags. Fans just overlook it if they coach their team.

Nobody's perfect but it's obvious that Meyer is completely untrustable. Family, fans and employers cannot trust the guy.

The term "nice guys finish last" applies to college football coaches more than just about any other job. Mark Richt, for example, didn't have the killer instinct. The best coaches all have at least a bit of a-hole in them.

Meyer, however, is a special level of douche bag.

So back in the day he would have gotten away with being an arse and everyone would have loved it, yet those who loved it were good men.

Ok

I guess you could pay OJ Simpson, Rae Carruth and Aaron Hernandez the same compliment.

off the field issues are more important when talking about his character. The dude is married and he got caught groping some girl at a bar, that's dirtbag material to me.

If you were a reverend I would go to your church and happily tithe my money. If you were a coach I would want you fired.

He covered a man beating up his wife for 5 years!

Only a dirtbag would cover up for a POS who is beating his wife!

Then you add in all the other shite he has done.

Hes not a disgrace top me .as a Buckeye fan. Won a Natty over BAMA erases alot of character imperfections in my book. And really , what did he do wrong at Ohio St ??Not babysit one of his assistant coaches and the coaches psycho wife?? That wasnt Urbs repsosibility .That kind of stuff falls more on AD to handle . Does Urb like to drink?Yes. Does Urb like hot blondes falling all over him when hes got a buzz on?Yes.who wouldnt . If this was 1980 that story would have never been told . Maybe he and Shelley are swingers none of us know . My point is , he isnt as bad as Bobby Petrino or Even poor ole dead Joe Paterno...hes more like a good coach version of Ed O

No, it wasn't. There just wasn't the day-to-day communication networks for everyone to see how big of assholes people were. Now we the public have enough windows into people's live to see for ourselves what dirtbags they are.

He physically assaulted one of his players on the field, by intentionally kicking them. And insisted he was entitled to do it because he's the head coach.

So...yes, he's 100% a dirt bag on the field.

quote:

“I’m in a lunge position. Left leg forward, right leg back,” Lambo said. “… Urban Meyer, while I’m in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, ‘Hey Dips–t, make your f–king kicks!’ And kicks me in the leg.”
Lambo spoke for the first time publicly about what he said happened to him in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times.
“It certainly wasn’t as hard as he could’ve done it, but it certainly wasn’t a love tap,” Lambo said. “Truthfully, I’d register it as a five (out of 10). Which in the workplace, I don’t care if it’s football or not, the boss can’t strike an employee. And for a second, I couldn’t believe it actually happened. Pardon my vulgarity, I said, ‘Don’t you ever f–king kick me again!’ And his response was, ‘I’m the head ball coach, I’ll kick you whenever the f–k I want.’”

This. Very few folks have reached a prominent position without at least being a little bit slimey. Now every human carries around a recording device in their pockets and we get to actually see what's going down.
