The question is, is JT healthy and can he play at a high level now?
Even if fully healthy, can he become ready to play at a high level if he's only allowed to practice with the 2s? Smart would have to make a decision now that he was going to go with him. Otherwise, it's the status quo...JT as emergency back up.

Your point is that you think Kirby is stubborn. And that he’s scared that the backup might outperform the starter. Which would make Kirby look bad for not playing him all along. And so Kirby benches the better QB and goes with the less talented one, so that he wont be criticized by dorks on the internet.
Its utterly moronic. Demonstraby false. And full on embarrassing, dude.

As are you as evidenced by you still ignoring the 3 examples that prove my point, and focusing on 3 examples that are irrelevant to my point. Embarrassing it is.

I'm not sure that I buy that explanation. I do think there is something going on beyond what we know with JT. Only sane explanation as to why Kirby not even consider putting in JT with us down by several scores in the SECG?
Most of us hope it's the "something else going on beyond what we know."
The fear expressed by some is that he's a very stubborn defensive coach and/or he lets personal biases play into decisions. Coaches have been known to be stubborn and it's not like college football games haven't ever been lost on bad decisions or bad strategies of coaches.

I usually try to avoid the conspiracy theories, but I remember my first concern was when JT was pulled for Stetson for a series in the first quarter against South Carolina. JT had led us to a 14 point lead on our first two possessions. Stetson comes in and immediately throws an interception. I was watching it with my family, and no one could understand why JT was pulled. I think Kirby said Stetson earned a series. Why pull him for a series so early in the game?

Here's the thing. There's us that know JT is much more talented than Scoutie Stetson (we still cheer for UGA and hope Stetson does well and wins). Then, there are others...who like to say "you think you know more than Kirby who we pay Millions of $ to coach."
One of these 3 things must be true.
1)JT is much more talented and SHOULD be playing or have come in relief (he was the starter before injury btw)
2)Kirby and his staff absolutely suck arse at developing QB talent
OR
3)Kirby and his staff absolutely suck arse at scouting out QB talent and QB recruiting

Didn’t you say you were a walk on?

Little of 2, little of 3 IMO

I would go mostly with #1 as far as the talent piece. But with JT being unhealthy almost the whole season, this team became oriented around winning through its defense. Maybe Kirby figured that having a more talented QB didn't matter so long as whoever the QB is doesn't throw INTs....???

I just wanted to be clear that a walk on is mocking a scholarship player for once playing on the scout team. That is pretty rich.

The non-conspiracy theory would be that JT was playing hurt and maybe they wanted to limit his time as much as possible. The more sinister theory could be...who knows?
But it is interesting that IF JT truly had gotten back to 100% health with 3 or 4 games left in the season (as Smart kept insisting was the case), why wasn't the door swinging both ways? Had JT not earned some time? Would it not have been prudent to get him in more, even just to get back in sync?
Unless the health issue was more lingering than Smart let on or there was a personal conflict, it doesn't make sense. We'll find out eventually.

That wr must have had an amazing qb
It's not like that same QB is being compared to Tom Brady as a rookie and has the Patriots in first place in their division or anything.
As a rookie...

This is my biggest issue. Why does Stetson get the benefit of the doubt EVERY TIME but when the roles are reversed JT doesn't get a crumb.

This happens when different standards are applied. We are a select few posters on this site do this, and also with the D.

All things being equal, this would hold true. But all things are quite possibly not equal.

Meaning nothing going on behind the scene with JT's health etc. Which I definitely think it is.

Notice how people never want to discuss this, esp if its mental?

My guess is the preseason injury prior to Clemson was worse than they let on and no one wanted to say the all world qb was hurt in practice and out for the year.
He played a few games sparingly and Kirby saw it wasnt going to work.
The rest is smoke screen so teams have to waste resources preparing for both qbs.
