I think at least 3, 2012, 2018, an 2020.

Discuss.

Saban's recruiting network is in the south. Those kids could careless about ND.

Well you can't argue with 2012, he wouldn't have played his Alabama team and I am confident he would have beaten that Georgia team.

0 - Recruiting to ND is completely different recruiting to SEC schools (Vandy aside). Recruits go to ND to get a degree from ND or be a part of the ND history. Bama, LSU, UGA kids go there to get into the league and win titles, compete in the SEC etc. He would have the same record or worse Kelly has.

None, the rant has taught me that Saban is only as good as his recruiting and that you can't recruit talent at Notre Dame.

Not knocking ND. Saban was a yearish from being at LSU. Bama was 13 months removed from being 9-0 and #1 with Shula. It was a perfect storm and he had talent to work with. ND would have been a complete rebuild in a region he was not well connected in.

So we're hypothetically judging what his roster/staff would have looked like at Notre Dame 8-10 years into his imaginary tenure there?

GTFO with this bullshite.

He would have won 2012, and probably 2 more. If you don't think Nick Saban wouldn't pull recruits to ND you have been asleep for 15 years.

You don't think Saban was connected in the midwest after working in the midwest for years? He had spent way more time in the midwest as of 2010 than he had in the southeast: 10 years at Michigan State, 1 year at Toledo, 2 years at OSU, and 4 at Kent State compared to 5 years at LSU and 2 at Alabama.... Saban had zero connections to the South when he took the LSU job. He made them once he got down here, and he would have made the connections he needed regardless of which region he found himself coaching.

The frick are you talking about? That Georgia team was like 3 yards away from beating Alabama.

That Notre Dame team would have been crushed by Georgia, much in the same manner Alabama crushed them. Like many years, the national championship that year was decided in the SECCG, not the over-ranked cupcake based on name Notre Dame game.

I dont think he could pull the D linemen he was recruiting at the time to ND. Those were coming out of LA/MS/AL/GA. That is premium talent. If he made the swap to offense earlier, maybe he wins. 2012 ND with Saban would still have to play a stacked Bama team and they lose.

He is a great coach, and do think he could have won a national championship there. He would not have enjoyed multiple championships there due to academic restraints.
