I will say this...if Ty Simpson, Ty Buchner, Dylan Lonergan, or Eli Holstein isn't better than what I saw last night from the quarterback position then fire everybody involved with their DEVELOPMENT.

This should scare Julian Sayin in other recruits.

Jalen Milroe is literally the fourth string quarterback. I said this after A day...He had a long way to go too even be considered a quarterback in my eyes and it showed last night.

I think Nick Saban chose him due to experience and the simple fact the players love & gravitate towards him more but even Ray Charles can see that he is not an SEC level quarterback.

Players are taking up for him saying that they are behind him which is all good but make no mistake if he remains the starter this will be a 3 loss season EASY.

We got USF...I think we should give both Ty Buchner & Simpson their fair shake in game. No Milroe period if we are serious about playing for a championship.

No GOAT would have started Milroe.

The sad part about is, you’re wrong. He’s not QB4, he’s not QB5, he’s not QB10. His passing is so horrible, he shouldn’t be on the QB depth chart at all. He’s a FB/RB, and I can’t believe Saban started another QB with 0 passing skills because of seniority. Smh

How long have those guys been on campus?

How long do you think it takes to develop a QB?

It takes a helluva lot longer than those guys have been here.

The issues are bigger than that, starting with identifying the best talent and getting them here.

We just got flat out beaten last night. First time in recent memory where you couldn’t point to a couple little things swinging our direction turning a loss into a win.

Not throwing another QB out there after watching Milroe lollipop those passes all night is just an old man being a stubborn arse old man. Could lose several more games, but the SEC seems pretty down outside of UGA this year.

It..might be over dudes. We got outclassed, outcoached, and out efforted from start to finish last night.

One good thing - crowd brought it last night. Atmosphere was great, too bad the team didn’t bring the same enthusiasm and effort.

I posted this in the game thread. Yes, at some point the other QBs need to get a shot. But none of them are SEC championship material.

And it's not just the QBs. The OL is not good at all by Alabama standards. Seriously...do you think our center deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as Jones, Kelly, Bozeman, Pierschbacher, Caldwell, or hell, even Vlachos? What OL do you see as being a first round draft choice?

RB...I've previously mentioned the talent we've had in the past...even Glen Coffee. None of these guys are remotely that good.

At WR we've been spoiled with multiple first round draft picks over the last several years. You can name at least 8 that would keep any of this year's crew from ever seeing the field.

The coaching certainly can improve, but the talent on this team is woefully less than what we've been accustomed to over the last 15 years, and even with great coaching, their ceiling is going to be at a level below the standard we are used to.

They may be great young men. They are not great football players.

That's as real as it gets.

I agree, the talent is down in a lot of position groups. McClellan as RB1 leaves a lot to be desired. He feels like the 15th best RB we’ve had since Saban has been here.

WRs? Yikes. I don’t even know what to type here. The top 3 we have are mediocre at best.

We have 0 horses on the DL, and our secondary had to grab guys from UAB and Louisiana Monroe to fill the roster, and they are damn near starting now.

But, with all that, there’s no worse drop off anywhere than at QB. Milroe can not throw a football. But Saban is putting him at QB. He’s 75 years old and losing his mind.

That used to be the case. Now there are underclassmen quarterbacks winning the Heisman practically every year.

Completely ignorant take. Give this group of players to Sark and I guarantee you he has them competing for the NC, because he wouldn’t be playing Milroe at QB and his play calls would make the receivers look other worldly.

The team is fine, the QB and the coaching are not.

Rees schemed some receivers completely uncovered on at least three occasions, seemingly more based on the accounts of people who were watching in person. Not sure how you can put it on him when the quarterback left over 20 points off the board.

Just for starters, at center, I can name you seven guys from the last 15 years that would keep our current starter hopelessly buried on the bench.

Dude, Bryce Young is starting today in his very first NFL game.
We can afford the luxury of not having to recruit quarterbacks that need time to develop.

Disagree it's hard to gage the WR's with how poor the QB play is

Benson, Bond ... and even Burton (eating crow on this one) all look to be NFL WRs

Edit: Amari Niblack is also an NFL player at TE

Yeah, "dude", and Young set foot on campus with a helluva lot more talent and decision making ability. What we have on this roster will take more time to develop to a championship level, if it's even possible. So the failure starts with identifying the best and getting them on campus.

AJ Milwee and Sark had no problem DEVELOPING talent when they were here.

You do remember the guy name Mac Jones right? He was high 3 star recruit I think.

Every quarterback on Texas is ready to go I guarantee you that from a development standpoint.

I think we have plenty of talent. We moved the #2 running back out of highschool to wide receiver...he hasn't saw the field yet.

Emmanuel Henderson

We got plenty of defensive line talent but we don't have a defensive line coach so it doesn't matter who we recruit if they aren't being DEVELOPED.

NO CAP!

Wide receivers were the most improved position group on the field. They made some incredible leaping catches in traffic, adjusted to overthrows and under throws, and ran much better routes. People seem to be forgetting that they had constant drops and guys running into each other at that position under BoB.
