The word “star” is very loosely used in the video title.

That was two minutes of making fun of Ranes hat

That's some funny shite.
And it's not even a skit show video.

"In 2009, Bates was tied for 39th in the SEC in tackles per game, with 5.4. In 2009, he started all 13 games at safety and totaled 70 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. In 2010, he appeared in 12 games with nine starts and was 8th on team with 48 tackles. Bates was made the Freshman All SEC team and also was a second team Freshman All American. Bates made his first collegiate start at linebacker in the season opener vs. Arkansas State after playing safety the previous years. In 2011 Bates started all 13 games and led the team with 104 tackles and was third on team with 8.5 tackles for loss (-30), 2.5 quarterback sacks (-15), and nine quarterback hurries. In 2012 Bates made 94 tackles (39) solo and 5.5 for losses he also batted away 4 passes and recovered 2 fumbles and intercepted a pass."
And as an undrafted free affect dude played like 9 years in the NFL. Why would an "Auburn" fan be such a dick about a former Auburn STAR player?

Bates had a great football career for a 2 star from Memphis

People hate on the boosters, but I’m sure Bates liked all the luxury Rane provided for the players while he was at Auburn.

Boosters aren’t immune from criticism just because they are the money.

Rane isn’t the problem. He’s gone golfing with Harsin.
People are just looking for scapegoats now
Read the other thread. Harsin probably isn’t fond of NIL either

He isn't, he made that clear in a vague way, while standing in front of Auburn's "On to Victory" NIL collective sponsor

Does Daren put his money where his mouth is? What does he do to support the program today?

How have I never seen the Curious George connection before?

I’m sure Rane is also responsible for high gas prices.

I didn’t say that. But maybe coming from someone who grew up on a farm, I didn’t exactly appreciate them talking shite about “chicken farmers” being boosters. If they want to be critical about certain boosters meddling in the program too much, that’s one thing. But to make fun of the guys that paid for those nice uniforms, food, hotels, private planes, etc. just because is another. These guys donate millions of dollars, because they love Auburn. How much money do you think Bates has donated to the program?

Bates seems to really appreciate the opportunity he was afforded by AU and the alumni… needs to check the attitude and recognize the contributions these multi millionaires have made to society. Our nation needs businessmen, farmers and engineers…. We can easily survive without professional athletes…

Yeah, I have said in the past. You can't ask people for a 20MM buyout and not expect feedback on the next hire. They didn't get rich giving money away to dumbasses.

The issue wasn't who gets to say what, to whom, nor when (or maybe how often).
This was a management issue, one that should have been handled behind closed doors, and not subject to three party attack. Yet another case where the grownups forgot discretion, decorum, and acting like gentlemen.
Hint: the finer schools keep it down home cuz.
