My point was that Auburn isn't Auburn without the big money donors. If Bates wants to shite on the school and boosters that made that possible for him more power to him. It's not a good look.

But whatever this has turned into in the conversation is weird I welcome the debate. But taking things out of context and then posting a link with no information basically other then more proof that Rane, Lowder, and Harbert are in a rare group that donates $3 million annually to sports is a strange way to claim a win.

It is. Thanks.

Still doesn't prove what I said right or wrong. Neither does the link you posted. I wasn't calling you out in my original post in this thread yours was just the last reply.

But keep on. Show daddy you know how to win this.

But what I responded to was:

quote:

Rane Lowder and Harbert has probably donated in the past 30 years as much as the entire alumni base has donated especially to the sports programs.

Which is not remotely close to being true.

What got me going was your accerstion that we're, somehow, beholden to the few. We are not.

Didn't say we were beholden to a few. I think you are taking things out of context from me and whoever responded above.

Every and I mean every university that competes at a high level in sports has money folks. And we needs those money folks more then anything now with NIL and shite like that. So for all the boogeymen stories about the big givers like I said we wouldn't be where we are without them. That's an absolute fact.

And you know this how? Or have proof that it isn't remotely close to being true where?

I just gave proof. Everyone knows this. You asking me to disprove a negative is weak.

spell the proof out for me. Cause I don't see it.

So you saying it isn't remotely close to being true is your proof.

Or your link to tigers unlimited that show the 3 families I named in the top tier of givers? That link? So they are 3 of 15 that give at least $3 million.

I don't think you understand how debating works.

The everyone knows this argument. I haven't seen anyone back you up on this take.

Anyway I not even sure what we are debating so you can claim the win. It's not even interesting arguing who gives what kind of money.

It's BOROTIGER day on the Auburn Rant. Woohoo! Congrats.

Plus then add in what they donate on the academic side.

That's all well and good.......but support Auburn. Don't try to run it and get in a dick measuring contest with other people who donate. Micro-manage your companies all you want. Don't try and micro-manage Auburn.

People in the know have been saying for years it's a constant tug-of-war with the ones behind the curtain. This is not some new shocking revelation.

Dude this wasn't something that played out behind the scenes and it's time for those involved to finally get the message.

Which is we welcome your money, but it only comes with so much say, and then shut the frick up or keep the wallet closed. Because this childish behavior will not be tolerated outside of closed doors. And because as failed business discussion this was a management fiasco.

Because:

This was dirty laundry, public coup d'état bad,
and it comes across as lack of institutional control,
and as attempted career assignation it will have far lasting implications,
and because it made a great University look bush league once again.

And it was probably a catch-22 where the funds brought merely covered the extreme cost of having conducted business with them in the first place.

Furthermore get over it - have a laugh - this Curious George quip was rib hurting funny.
