How the hell can Napier be close to the hot seat?

If they lose to Tennessee? Are they for some reason thinking they're close to what they were when Tebow was in the game?

Dudes had two games. Utah wasn't bad at all. Florida didn't become good all of a sudden and now Tenn is a must win??

That short window of success has resulted in a short leash on the head coaches. We’ve seen it at other schools looking for that magic bullet that comes around seldomly.

It happens in all sports.

Rise of Georgia. And seemingly the Vols as well has them nervous. Especially with how bad Napier has looked on GameDay

It boggles my mind.

Mullen left that program void of talent in a lot of areas.

One year and two games and UF fans are wanting him run off.

I brought this up in another thread on the same subject........

nole fans wanted Norvell fired after his second season. That would have been a major fuq up if that happened.

Because the Gators have a recent history of pulling the trigger rather quickly on underperforming coaches. Spurrier and Meyer’s success looms large.

Napier didn't inherit much when he came in. On top of that he had a rough schedule last year, a much tougher one this year and next year is brutal. On top of that with regards to recruiting he's facing ascendant programs in FSU, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, a re-energized Auburn and of course Bama. Then the UF NIL braintrust pulled a complete debacle last year which made national headlines and absolutely killed any momentum (probably for a few years to come) No coach could have picked a worse time to take the UF job. If UF doesn't give him 4-5 years to make an objective assessment of what he's capable/incapable of they are making a foolish mistake.

My primary concern.

His recruiting is going well, for the most part, but he's a complete spaz during games.

FWIW, I've never been on Sunbelt Billy's train. I hope he eventually figures it out, but at this point I doubt it.

Tbh with NIL going on you can literally build your roster in 1 yr...look at Michigan st and look at Colorado this yr. It is possible to win now.

It doesn’t take that long to turn a program like Florida around if you’re worth a shite. Napier hasn’t been a train wreck so he doesn’t need people talking about his job but he’s not on pace and people are anticipating the heat that will be on him fairly soon if he doesn’t get on pace.

False. You watch/listen/read too much ESPN-inspired cascading garbage.

Yeah just look at LSU fans.

BK inherited a roster with 39 scholarship players, won the west in year 1 and there are fans who legitimately want him gone because we got beat by FSU.

He's not really on the hot seat. Yet.

Besides if they fire him they have to settle with 2000 football operations staff

Like who exactly?

Muschamp was given a fourth year after losing to Georgia Southern. Went 7-5 the next year. Did his performance at SCAR convince you all he needed was more time?

McElwain clashed with the administration and awkwardly brought up death threats. He wanted out.

Mullen no longer coaches and seems content to do the TV thing. He would have absolutely been given more time but it's plain to see he no longer has a fire to coach. He's not a fan of what NIL has done to college football.

This idea that UF'a fanbase is any more impatient than others is nonsense. Most don't want Napier gone. They want him to hire an OC because our flag football routes aren't helping the passing game.

Napier needs to stick to what he's good at, which is building and running the organization. Be the CEO of the football team. He is terrible at actually managing the game and calling offensive plays. He needs to hand those duties off to a competent coordinator.
