The most important benefit of 8 (vs 9) conference games....

.....is that it saves the Longhorn Network.
This extra OOC game against a scrub team allows for more LHN content. Along with our games against a&m and arkie, we will be able to have, at minimum, 2 additional games against OOC schools on LHN. I am confident all SEC members will appreciate the benefits of the LHN over time.
Also, please be prompt in paying your cable bills. Sark needs another flat screen TV in his office.

frick the LHN.
There are zero benefits from the LHN for any of the other 15 members of the conference.

Side note: With my YouTubeTV and ESPN+ subscriptions, I figured I could probably watch any college baseball they had on the ESPN. But not, guess which games I can't watch: those on LHN. Made me laugh when I found that out.

I mean...cool. You have a network that doesnt allow anyone else to watch your program, because nobody outside of Texas is paying for LHN. You played yourselves

Texass fans just aren’t ready to let go of Longhorn Network’s weekly showing of the 2005 season

We have the widest distribution of any single school network in human history

It's gonna be 9, bro.
You can already pick up the momentum for 9 over 8 by watching Fine Balm this week.

No one gives a frick about the LHN. You expansion trash need to learn your place here.

The Texas AD has already spoken about how it will be folded in the SEC network.
Personally, I was a big fan with respect to the broadcasts of baseball, softball, women's basketball, Texas Relays, tennis, etc. on the station. But I realize I'm likely in the minority of those who follow some of those sports and I'm not naïve enough to think those carry any weight in terms of revenue. Plus, most of those will likely be broadcast on SEC+ or any other streaming outlet anyhow.

If anybody was "played" it was ESPN. Texas got nothing but benefit through the network tbh

I think about half of these TX fans are Aggie sock accounts.

Isn't BYU's substantially bigger.
edit - shows it was in 65 million households a decade ago. Not finding anything on current distribution.
