First will clarify that I don’t think OSU beats Georgia, but if it were to happen, would it be the most hyped National Championship of the BCS/Playoff era?

I don't see any way that wouldn't be the most hyped college football game of all time. Would honestly be pretty neat.

If you mean overhyped, sure.

Alabama/Georgia 2017 was highly hyped because it was the first time we had a "one conference" championship in the playoff era.

LSU/Clemson 2019 was highly hyped because of Burrow vs Lawrence.

USC vs Texas is still #1 with 35 million views and the hype was absurd.

Ohio State vs Oregon got the most second most views by a significant margin at 34 million. The hype seemed pretty big for that game too because it was the first playoff championship.

"nobody wants to see two teams from same conference in the championship game"

...oh wait, that's just when it's SEC vs SEC

I think the hype for an Iron Bowl championship would be wild.

I've wondered what OSU fans would hate less -- an blowout loss to Georgia in the semis, or a last second loss to Michigan in the NC game?

If given the choice, I assume they'd choose the former every time, right?

Only in the state of Alabama. And only for Auburn fans/sympathizers. It will just annoy tf out of Bama, other SEC fans and the rest of the country. Besides, will never happen.

Close losses suck the most.

Bad losses -- I can at least make myself feel better by blaming our team/coaches.

USC and Texas were ranked 1&2 preseason and went that way the entire year. There was no doubt who had the best 2 teams in the country. It was the Rose Bowl in California.

The third highest ranked game was 2009 Texas-Alabama at 31 Million.

Those are the only 3 games that have had more than 30 million viewers.

It will be the biggest game in CFB history and there honestly isn't a debate.

no way. For starters we already saw those temas play a month ago, and I think most people believe that OSU would more than likely win a remtach.

Some of those bama/clemson matchups were definitely more hyped. I think the uga/bama storyline in '17 was way more intriguing but I could be biased. In the BCS era that OU/USC buildup hype was absolutely off the charts, even if the game itself was pitiful.

Don't get your hopes up. MI boat raced OSU by 22. UGa is basically MI with 5 stars instead of 3s and 4s. Could be the most lopsided playoff game since Bama and MSU.

I'm gonna go the opposite and say it's UGa and TCU in the championship.

I find it comical that TCU and Cincinnati have both made it into to CFP.... yet the aggies have never even won the SECW.

No, the 2011 Championship game would be hard to replace as the most hyped.

Not out of the question. When you've watched as much football as I have you understand this shite is rigged.

Most hyped and few outside of Ohio or Michigan would tune in.

No.

We have seen it already. Everything college football does not revolve around these two schools from the Midwest. It will be huge in the Midwest, but meh everywhere else. For all the talk of SEC arrogance, Michigan-OSU “the Game” delusions achieve a level of fan hubris that cannot be touched.
