Mel Tucker suspends players involved in violence while Nick Saban rewards players that beat up women.

Fisher has suspended I don't know how many kids. We will lose some of them, but trouble makers are terrible for the locker room anyway

I lost a lot of respect for Saban after that move - player on VIDEO beats on a defenseless woman. I think he's feeling the pressure

Yeah your last coach was suspended for hiring a literal wife beater.

Let's talk about how you do it in the B1G. How you do it is a rampant, unaddressed abuse culture that somehow the conference leadership escapes accountability on. Let's take a little trip down memory lane:
*2011 Iowa--coaches injure football players in a preposterous workout. They don't offer medical attention after players complained about severe pain and other symptoms. 13 are hospitalized. Iowa settles lawsuits.
*2011 Penn State--Sandusky. Need we say more?
*2012 Ohio State--six players of the women's lacrosse team are hospitalized with the same condition (rhabdo) as the Iowa football players. Five are hospitalized, 3 for as many as 6 nights.
*2014 Michigan--QB Shane Morris is concussed, but put back into 30-14 loss to Minnesota by Brady Hoke. "Miscommunication" is blamed.
*2015 Illinois--football coach Tim Beckman is fired for influencing medical reports and pressuring players to play with injuries.
*2016 Indiana--football coach Kevin Wilson is fired for abusing players.
*2017 Michigan State--Larry Nassar/USA Gymnastics scandal. Nassar sentenced to 175 years in prison; Michigan State settles for a half billion dollars.
*2018 Ohio State--Dr. Richard Strauss is found to have abused at least 177 male student patients; Ohio State was aware of the abuse as early as 1979. Several former wrestlers implicated former head coaches Russ Hellickson and current US Representative Jim Jordan as knowing about Strauss. Ohio State settled in 2020 for $40.9 million.
*2018 Ohio State--Urban Meyer's tenure in Columbus ends over how he handled domestic abuse problems related to assistant coach Zach Smith. Meyer had been aware of the abuse since at least 2015, and possibly as early as 2009. He didn't report the issue as required by Title IX. AD Gene Smith was also suspended.
2018 Maryland--OL Jordan McNair dies after a team workout from heatstroke. His teammates help him finish the final runs because he is unable to stand on his own strength. Maryland says environment is toxic.
2018 Michigan--a police investigation of former UM sports doctor Robert Anderson concludes that Anderson sexually abused over 1,000 victims over his nearly 40 year career. Anderson died in 2008 and escaped justice. Abuse was reported for years. Even Bo Schembechler's son, aged 10 at the time, was abused. Matt Schembechler alleged that his father refused to believe him as far back as 1969. Millie Schembechler tried to get Anderson fired, but Bo Schembechler had him reinstated.
Should anyone be surprised about the Michigan State problem? Not as far as I'm concerned. The B1G, as a conference, has largely escaped being called out as an organization by the national media. There's clearly a culture problem there.
It's pretty clear how you do it in the B1G.
