It’s year two and DID YOU SEE WHAT HE INHERITED FROM THAT POTATO HEADED MOTHERfrickER. Rebuilds take longer than teardowns. Fact of life.

When was the last season where AU went down by (lets say) 10 and you were confident we could come back?
Cam year? Maybe a Marshall year?
I have had 0 hope of us coming back in a game in 10+ years. We haven’t sacked up in a looooooong time.

He still get a pass from me in the short term because this rebuild was always going to be a massive undertaking requiring multiple seasons to restock the cupboard.

No improvement though. No one expecting 10+ win season. Improvement not regression.

A class and a half doesn’t fill all the gaps we had.
Give him time.

The first half we didn't have a pass rush because most sets were a 3 man rush. That allowed Cal's QB to pick the secondary apart and repeatedly run a screen into the right flat area. They just kept going to the right racking up 4, 5 or 8 yards and the D didn't adjust until the second half.
The defensive scheme made the Cal QB look like a Heisman contender with 19 out of 21 first half completions. Meanwhile, Thorne was something like 7 out of 20.

And with every season like this one, they will cost us more and be harder to convince. And the boosters will be fewer and farther between investing as no progress appears on game day.
The game has changed and teams can get left behind for a long, long time that aren’t willing to quickly fix their mistakes.

Right now, if we get behind by more than a TD, I assume we aren't coming back. Thorne - and even Freeze - don't give me confidence...

Yep, agreed ….. it always does.
Here’s the dilemma for me regarding the LoS positions, which are desperately needed on the Plains.
IMO, the historical rule of thumb in the SEC was that would take the best offensive lines about 3 seasons to “ gel” and become capable of dominating.
Well how do you accomplish that in todays NIL environment, where rosters are a revolving door?

By having a competent QB and play caller to help them develop so they don’t get frustrated
Plenty other teams are doing it.
