I don’t know what’s really going on. But the more I’ve read from players the more it seems like Harsin is just a tough, football first coach and some guys just aren’t into it.

Talked about how they all loved Gus. Knew he was there for them and Harsin is only in it for himself. There were a few other players in the chat along with Deshaun Davis. There was some disagreement. Some were harsher than others. I think Smoke was one of those on the harder side

Yea I mean it was probably a culture shock from Gus who is very much a players coach. And that’s not me blaming Gus. There’s nothing wrong with being a players coach, but the fact is that we went from someone who was presumably pretty kind to the players to someone who isn’t.

This is what it is. Pat Dye worked his players to death, but he was completely interjected in their lives and treated his players like he was their father.
Harsin comes off like a dictator. Doesn't care about building any bond with his players. This isn't some "oh he's a hard-arse coach" BS; there is a balance between being a demanding coach and actually making people feel respected and wanted. Derek Mason obviously didn't like what he was seeing, hence his departure.
I have heard that Harsin is abusive even to grunt-workers in the Athletic Complex. People are miserable and are hoping he gets fired. You can find similar stories coming out of Boise when he left.
Again, there is a massive difference between being Mr. Demanding Football Coach and being a SOB.

At the end they all said they loved Auburn they were just trying to help Harsin become a better coach by giving constructive criticism. That must have been when Harsin's daughter chimed in.
