Money gets bigger, level of play sinks closer to high school.

At some point, why bother?

I just want the whole thing to blow up. For years and years folks would get upset with you and say we have to compensate the players, we have to let them transfer, coaches can leave when they want. Those who can see around corners told them this would lead to that and that and slippery slope, but no, everyone was just so effing damn smart.

Now look. And I'll say it, told you so all you that wouldn't listen.

Now, lets get busy with those uniforms.

Whenever college football finally morphs into whatever piece of crap it's trending to become, I could imagine a split to Pro jr league and more structured amateur student-athlete league. I hope some schools will return to the student-athlete model & play other schools with the same model. I hope Auburn is one of those teams.

The chase for the $, NIL, unlimited free agency is quickly killing one of my life long loves.

Brother it’s dead. Gone is the pageantry that it used to have. Gone is recruiting. All that’s left is Greed.

“There is nothing new under the sun.”

Paying players, fixing games, academic fraud, and on and on have been part of the fabric of college sports since the beginning.

Teams used to literally hire guys to play a game or two.

Even now we have recent indictments for point shaving in college basketball.

It’s entertainment. Most of it is legitimate.

Auburn is not going to strangle the golden goose that is big time football.

Wouldn't have to.... in his description how many teams do you think stay with the unlimited college model?

Likely the same 15 with an unlimited budget would be my guess. And who's going to follow a 15 team collegiate league when there's a still viable Division I FBS hundred team league of legacy fans (television wise).

Just cap it.

Where's the illegality in not paying someone's uncle 3 million dollars. I've never heard of a salary cap being illegal. And the money spent to money reaped might even be a net positive.

We need Gordon Gecko as AD.

"The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed—for lack of a better word—is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms—greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge—has marked the upward surge of mankind."
