PAC10, BIG12, or Mountain West philosophy?

I don't think he's a bad coach, but I still don't get all adoration being thrown his way. His job history is very unremarkable. He either gets fired, or jumps to another job. Has he been anywhere more than 3 years? Something else bothers me about him too. Yes, he's known for impressive offenses but defense seems to be an after thought. What good is it to have 500-600 yards of total offense if you still lose?

I think most of us view from Bama OC and on to be a new career arc. I legit hated the guy and laughed when Bama hired him. I'm now a full on believer.

Kiffin averaged 560 yards of offense w/in the SEC….

And his team won. Made it to a big 6 bowl game (Sugar Bowl)but Corral got hurt.

Ummmm.....I laughed too. I didn't see how him and and Saban could get along. Then he fricked Saban a week before the Natty game. I laughed then too. That dude has some serious issues.

Did they hang a banner for being the Sugar Bowl runner-up?

Looks like the real issue was.........the defense. Apparently, OM got the ball run down their throat.

No. The real issue was losing one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Not giving up 21 points. Stop being stupid.

I guess so.

What was Brian Kelly's biggest accomplishment? Beating a 9-3 LSU team led by Ed Orgeron in 2017? Or was it beating an 8-4 LSU team in 2014 at the end of Les Miles' tenure? Or was it his D2 Championship at Grand Valley State ~20 years ago?

I guess it would be 2 SECw championships, 1 SEC championship, a NCG appearance. #1 all time rushing offense in the SEC (2013), beating Saban x3, becoming a meme, and most notable getting paid 19M to not coach.

Yep. One TD was a pick six. Another interception gave Baylor the Ball in the redzone.

Okay,

After reading all the threads on Kiffin I can deduce the following with clarity:

1) Kiffin must have violated Grey Goose at a young age, Chief you need to get over it

2) His defenses have not been great. Ya think of the 48 qualifications our AD was looking for maybe just maybe one of them might have been about defense. And Kiffin probably had a list of five guys he would like as DC, though some of you would not be happy if Bill Belichick showed up.

3) His recruiting prowess combined with our rep, facilities and NIL should reap instant rewards.

4) His announcement will see NIL dollars soar and he fittin eat in the portal. Let the OL line up.

5) Our offenses may be exciting again.

6) Geriner better be the second coming of Tom Brady, or we better get someone in the portal, if not its gonna be a tough 2023.

Fun times ahead....but Chief ya gotta get over it

I question a few things in Kiffin.

1. Will he field a defense at all?
2. Can he connect with the Auburn community? Gus never did and Harsin never tried.
3. He is an odd dude. Most of the people excited about him have never met him privately. If you had been around him in a social setting - you would know what I am talking about.

Can he win at Auburn? Sure. He is better than our last 3 coaches.

Is he my #1?

Nope.

We don’t want to hire a politician. Just put up points. That’s what he does well. We are paying him for the offense. I trust our PTB to help write checks for the staff.

I guess this Baylor stat had nothing to do with Ole Miss losing the Sugar Bowl.

Baylor scored 21 total points. In today’s CFB 21 is pretty damn good already.

1 of those TDs came via pick 6 and that 21 looks even better. Another TD came after a turnover in the red zone. Nah the defense isn’t why Ole Miss lost. Did the offense keep the defense on the field way too long to give up 14 points?

Now losing a QB responsible for over 300+ total yards per game and a bum QB entering: now that hurts.

#4. He's paid very well at his current job. He has to potential to get paid a whole lot more, by somebody else. What does he do on Monday after his team gets a mudhole stomped in their arse? Tweets about top rushing offenses.

700 yards of total offense and you still lose? Seems like he might want to do a little focusing on the things that are not doing so well....
