I genuinely don’t know

He would of hired a decent staff I can tell you that not a Mountain west buddy group

No, he wouldn't.
He would have hired a real SEC staff and he would have had the money to recruit. He knows this conference and he has a lot of connections. His defense was already good (and it has declined under Harsin).
He never would have been my choice, but we are literally in a scenario where the HC/OC/DC are all incompetent.

Harsin is what 3-8 against P5 teams at AU? And almost lost to Ga Southern. Struggled against SJSU.

Looking back Steels defense was fricking lit

Given his HC record, probably worse

and yet his OC choice was hired last year and we did poorly...even if he kept his D, his O would have been bad as it was last year...

Press man. Bracket coverage. Linebackers that make plays. DL that gets tackles for a loss. Only thing he missed was an elite pass rusher for a couple years

His OC choice was Kendall Briles. DC would have been Charles Kelly.

I’m sorry I had the kneejerk reaction a lot of auburn fans had about that possibility.

0-12 at Southern Miss.
Probably 3-9 here.
Maybe.

Why are we only the only school that sees Kevin Steele as a head coach? Apparently no other school out there considers him a head coach. If one did he'd be their head coach.

His record as a head coach was not very good.

Pretty low bar to clear so it’s a reasonable question. He looked out of place as the “head coach” when we signed guys on NSD. His comments on guys they almost flipped was pretty cringey
Who knows, though. I didn’t think Pittman would work out

WTF do I know, I expected Harsin to be a great hire.

Bobo didn’t get along/agree with Harsin’s philosophy. With what you have seen post Bobo, maybe he wasn’t the problem. Not to mention this OL would make any O coordinator look terrible

Don’t think it was meant to be long term. It was a stopgap until Gus’s buyout was paid down.
Or so I understood

And hes losing to Bobby Petrino and Missouri State at home right now
Maybe he’s not working out as well as everyone thinks
