We got that one guy that only writes about COVID or how much we suck.

Now we got Justin Lee who apparently thinks carrying out the American flag is as much of a political statement as BLM or kneeling for the anthem…I can’t even comprehend that logic…

No matter what your opinion is of kneeling/BLM is this is stupid.

The OA News is a dying paper and he is just auditioning for AL.COM. He's quite the salty little bitch.

We used to have some good ones. Who was that guy that left for Virginia Tech?

He’s getting about 100x the engagement off that tweet than his usual tweet would.

The reality is that we’ve drifted over the decades into this sports culture world where everything outside the lines draws as much interest as what happens inside the lines. It’s not just politics but it’s fashion, material objects, causes, and so on. And sports media is going to cover that stuff because people read it and engage with it at rates that the game recap will never draw.

I’m as ready and willing to point out shitty journalists as anyone but at the end of the day they’re all just giving their audience what they want.

I bet if you met some of these “writers” in person you’d figure out pretty quick why they suck.

You’d also wonder if they’ve ever thrown a football in their lifetime.

I’d argue Jeff Lee provided the Auburn audience what they wanted with the picture. Justin did nothing but piss on it. What the hell do you mean we want that.

His average tweet has like 5 likes The one linked here probably has thousands and thousands of views because of how often it’s been linked across message boards and retweeted, commented on, etc. So it’s kinda silly to say people aren’t interested in his vantage point if that’s the most engagement the guy gets.

Same deal with Goodman. And all of the Marcello complaints before these two guys. People talk about it, share it, so on because there’s so many people that are more interested about this than X’s and O’s

You and I might not care for it but I’m wondering if we’re the average consumer nowadays because journalists write for their audiences and that’s stuff gets the clicks

I don’t follow them shite journalists on Twitter for a reason. Read their posts. They act like they’re supposed to bash Auburn. I try to stay away from their click bait,

Goodman calls Hokanson a shill just because Hokanson doesn’t go out of his way to bash Auburn.

Goodman then insinuates Bo Nix must be mental without providing context whatsoever.

And then later he says while giggling like a school girl “ California boy Bryce Young just said “thanks y’all”. I love him already.”

You may not follow them but you’re squarely aware of what they’re writing

That’s my only point. People are drawn to the drama and even folks like you that try to ignore it are on top of what they’re saying. And those guys aren’t naive to that fact so I expect we’ll keep getting this

I pick up on it because Twitter is an echo chamber regardless of whether I follow or not.

Still, taking pleasure in poking at the very audience you’re supposed to be writing for is not normal. If they’d quit the antics their own fanbase would actually interact with their shite. Which makes too much sense since Lee is supposed to begrudgingly write on Auburn.

I have a Twitter, but I’ve never tweeted anything.

I never check it unless someone links it here.

Justin Lee is basically a local writer, and to if he want's followers or clicks that are positive in his writing you sure as hell don't stir it up negatively.

These writer's problem, is they are injecting their personal views into 'sports' events and programs they cover.

In his case he is hurting his cred to the audience he basically is writing too. He's not a national writer, geez.

Goodman is basically the same except he has a bigger audience with AL.com. But he tends to pick his sides, and then writes his opinions based on that way too many times.

Harsin's teams at Boise carried the flag at every game. I wonder if this Justin Lee character was aware of that? Harsin is not making a "political statement." It's what he's always done.

I think the old dude, not wearing a headset that keeps leaving himself off mute and making all these calls echos is the worst though.

You’d think would get a few intermural jocks in there but no. None. They all look like varying sizes of a Cinnabon.
