Hugh has the talent not to lose against NMSU, Cal and Arkansas on our home field. Yeah, we're not ready to play toward the top of the conference, but we aren't winning the games we should. How many Auburn coaches have back to back losing seasons? Three?

At some point, it's completely an excuse for other problems.

One of our biggest problems is having an itchy trigger finger to fire coaches. We had to fill our OL 3 deep with transfers, still a makeshift group. Why put a $1 million QB behind that?

There is no excuse for the product on the field from a coaching stand point. Zero! We keep getting promised " I just need to coach them up better" but that's not happening. It's just frustrating to not see coaching changes when things aren't working. You know the players strength and weaknesses but aren't playing to those abilities

So when we turn in our third losing season under Hugh and 5th in a row overall, empty seats start showing up, the hypothetical top ten classes head back to earth, what do you think is going to happen?

Unfortunately we are probably going to find out whomever is on the sideline. Give me 1 realistic option, better than Hugh, who would agree to become the 5th HC in 6 years to lead a years long botched abortion

This question gets asked a lot like we are ever choosing the next Kirby or Saban. We never are. Freeze was a weak choice. There are coaches out there more dynamic, with more modern offenses, better at game prep, younger and with a better understanding of how to succeed in what college football has become. Who is that? I don't know. You evaluate and hope the people you have hired to make that choice have more sense than yella fella or whoever keeps looking for that one guy that beat Saban one time. There's no sure thing except what we are currently looking at on the field. Freeze will get a couple of years, but it's pretty obvious to me at this point that he's in over his head... talent or no.

My opinion of who's in over their head is you with your expectations on how quickly this rebuild should be

Some of you act like Auburn is the only team dealing with talent problems. Ok. Just don't get your hopes up. You'll still be here in a couple of years saying "we just have to wait until we have a QB/better oline/secondary depth/more stability with assistants" and on and on. Meanwhile, you're going to slowly understand no team gets four years of roster anymore. The top players come in and if what they see if regression, (this year) it's on to the next guy. Texas A&M recruited lights out for years and sucked...because coaching matters.

We've had a decade of inept recruiting and player development leading into Hugh

It's a culture and mentality issue. We don't have enough team members with the attitude to will a win with or against odds.

Yeah, you're right. We've never hired a good coach before who can recruit AND show up prepared for a game. Auburn doesn't hand out multi-million dollar contracts like candy, nope. We should grovel for the right to hire a washed up scuzbag who got his last major program on probation and had been mouldering at Liberty with no callers when we showed up.

The clock is ticking on Freeze and if his trend thus far continues, we'll be looking for a unicorn soon enough.

I’m sorry but the way I feel now if Freeze was fired today I wouldn’t care.

Way to prove my point. AU throws money at average coaches because the high quality coaches are like unicorns, so market value inflates
