Can we afford to feed him?

Was a legit question who do we think would make a good GM?
If Lolley hasn't lost his high school connections I think he would be a great fit for the position. He knew all the high school coaches in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and much of Tennessee. Just not sure if he's been away and so much turnover in the high school coaches

I have no clue, I just know Lolley was on Tubbs staff and Bolt was supposedly spying on Chiz for the PTB in 2012. He was a defensive analyst. What does T Reed do now and is he qualified. If it’s just a pr job with HS coaches could be any number of people.

Fabianch was to prioritize the portal evaluations plus young high school athletes prior to being "discovered" I think he mentioned that in an interview I watched with him.
So essentially the leader or head of identifying talent. That's why I mentioned Lolley possibly being in a role like that if anyone knows the landscape of our foot print and talent evaluation and what it takes to play in the SEC it's Phillip Lolley.

I'm not saying it has to be or even needs to be but I think that's an important department going forward

Had dinner with Phillip in 2013 right after Gus was hired. He said he expected the team to go 7-5, maaaaybe 8-4 in 2013, and I agreed
He definitely has the high school connections but he's 68, hasn't coached since 2019 I think, I suspect he's probably retired at this point

There is a reason he was released so quickly. He was the only non-Boise boy to go. Not sure what Hugh’s plans are, but expect him to get his recruiting personnel in place quickly. Not sure about the GM title, seems odd. His Chief of Staff (Brads role) will probably be filled quickly.
They are: Offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau, tight ends coach/assistant head coach Brad Bedell, strength and conditioning coach Jeff Pitman, general manager/director of scouting Drew Fabianich, associate athletics director/football chief of staff Brad Larrondo and director of recruiting Darren Uscher.
