Pretty sure we made 2 Sweet 16s with Cliff.

Williams, Smith and Johnson said the same exact thing that Bruce said.

Miami and their experience, plus speed countered almost everything Auburn had to offer. That's why Kessler sat for the last 6 minutes. They were too fast for him. Smith claimed there were few opportunities for him to get off a good clean shot.

We'll reload ....there will be plenty to choose from in the transfer portal.

There might be plenty to choose from in the portal, but they need to choose wisely. And while I know only one team can win the championship, I would say outside of Kentucky, we probably looked the worst with the most. I've been jealous the past week watching teams that look well prepared, coached, and hungry. We have looked like none of those since around Feb 1.

People tend to lean on our defense, but it hasn't been spectacular lately. Offense has just been bland, unorganized and inconsistent. We need a shooter the others can rally behind. If Smith had to stick around for 2 years, he would probably be that guy, but he was too young despite the talent.

This team is not a tourney team and probably overachieved. We were ahead of our competition for a few months until we played tougher teams (Tennessee, Arkansas). SEC title & Sweet16 would have been so much better but maybe Jabari can still save the season somehow (#1 pick would help) and LSU collapse could also help (Traore).

Maybe you just like the picket fence and the swinging gate.

Forget who, but someone predicted previously that we needed better guard play to go deep into the postseason. I agree with him now.

We could be back to this place next year, three years, 2 years, who knows. We didn't expect to be in the final four a few years ago, or to win the SEC this year (until the roster magically fell into place).

With the way MBB is, teams are really volatile/fluid so I'm just excited to see how our team evolves over the next several years.

I’m guessing he means didn’t have the composition of a team that would do well in a tourney setting. Aka, lacks elite guards. That’s the only thing I can think of

I hope so. Every team will usually have struggles and get hot throughout the year. The worst just happened to us at the wrong time.

Transfer portal

I feel like you can flip the script on a roster super quickly these days

Iowa State went 2-22 last year. Transferred in a whole new team and are now in the Sweet16.
