Anyone but DJ. Please don’t be so stupid as to have a coach on the hot seat before he coaches his first game.

Plenty of people. The program has become the joke of the SEC and people like you constantly try to make excuses for them. Now I get being supportive but I only support a couple people in life, not matter the situation. And Auburn is not one of them.

The decisions from the front office have been terrible. The coaching has been terrible and the product is terrible.

Sometimes bro, you just have to call a spade a spade. You have done some solid work defending this shite show but I think its time for you to just say what you want to say. That this mess is not getting any better.

Ditto, my line started with my grandfather going to vet school in the late 30s. All this just hurts my heart but I'm pissed too.

Jake Crain said it's Durkin and claims he "will tell a story tomorrow that will blow your mind." He says the coaching search has been far more chaotic than people believe.

My instincts were right two weeks ago when I was seeing through the bullshite that was being put out. They weren't keeping things hush hush because they were running a super professional coaching search. They were keeping it buttoned up to hide the massive shite sandwich they were about to again feed the fan base.

I will say this, until fans are absolutely apoplectic and refuse to accept garbage hires, whether they be 5=19 bums from Iowa State or Bible thumping frauds who've been banished from big time football or another bum like DJ Durkin, nothing will change. There are too many big time programs in this league now and you will not survive by being cheap and thinking you are the smartest peanut in the turd. A Durkin's announcement today should be followed by John Cohen being fired effective immediately

That shows you how far we are knocked down. Arkansas and Ole Miss beat us out for coaches now.

It's only going to get worse. If Durkin is hired, there's no way he's not getting at least a 5 year deal. Anything less and you are signaling to everyone you know it's a garbage hire. I'm guessing 6 years at 8 mill per. If we fire him after 2 years well probably be on the hook for 36 million give or take

You'd think our power brokers would get tired of paying out tens of millions of dollars in buyouts every 2-3 years but they keep hiring the worst coaches anyway. They deserve to have to pay it again when they hire Durkin.

So lets look at things today from a Athletic Directors stand point. And yes I know that we are late in the process but what would you do at this point?

Looks like Sumrall is off the table at UF. The Russian is probably going to Ark. What route do you go?

And I have no bias either way. I have no idea who else is out there. Id say if they are going to go with Durkin and they want to change things up, offer him the job with a two year contract with incentives on good performance. If he or his agent dont agree, keep looking. Its not like he has any leverage.

Getting back on the hook for another 20-40 million dollar buy out is just insanity.

BUT, “market rate”.

I’m with you.

IF we hire Durkin, $3 million base, another $500,000 each win over 6 wins,
$1 million CFP selection, $2 million for CFP win, $5 million for CFP championship.

So IF win NC, that’s $13-15 million for Coach.

If 6-7, it’s $3 million.
8-5, it’s $4 million.
10-3 with CFP loss, it’s $6 million.

I agree. This is our chance to structure a contract beneficial to the university instead of the inherently adverserial contracts everyone signs these days. Durkin can kick rocks if he doesn’t like it. No one else is hiring him.

I think it’s fairly obvious tho it won’t happen. We’ll announce Durkin and praise him for rallying the troops and how hard the team played. We’ll sign him to a 5 year 40 million dollar contract with a buyout just like always. And then when he can’t beat Alabama or Georgia and we go .500 for the next three years we’ll fire him and hire someone else no one wants.

I don’t want DJD.

But I sure don’t want 5 years at 8 million with a 20 million dollar buyout.

Yup. The search is over and look no further than a coach who was an integral part of our success these last couple of years!
