Nope, I'm advocating for a guy who has built a program from the ground up, and is sitting at 6-5 with three losses coming via #3 Texas A&M, North Texas who sits at 11-1 and who's coach Chad Morris was just signed by Okie St and South Florida who's is 8-3 with a coach who is also in hot demand. A guy who beat the leader in the clubhouse, Mr Sumrall 48-26 a couple weeks ago. He's right there in the discussion with all of those guys, and will probably be the next hot name to come up in these coaching searches. Sumrall, Golesh, Morris and Traylor are all solid up and coming hires.

2-3 years ago Traylor was the hottest G5 coach on the market and was reportedly turning down job offers. I think he thought that he may have a shot at Texas or Texas A&M and it never materialized, and now he is stuck at UTSA. He is actually a good coach and has a shite-ton of connections in Texas.

Would anyone be surprised by the following happening?
Step 1: Durkin is hired as the HC.
Step 2: T-Will is named as his DC since we gotta bring our Auburn boys home (he is now unemployed and available after sucking so badly that he got Pittman fired at Arky).
Step 3: Durkin predictably fails and gets fired within his 3rd season.
Step 4: T-Will is named the interim-HC and everyone is in love. The players love him! He raps! Mike G. starts the mouthpiecing for T-Will.
Step 5: Auburn fanbase and administration push T-Will into the permanent HC role ("But the players love him, and if you don't give him the job they'll all leave! And he is a true Auburn man!")
Step 6: Repeat.

I wondered about this too and I’ve come to the following conclusion. The state of Texas loves to push their most successful high school coaches to second tier instate programs like the North Texas and the Baylor’s and so on. However, when it comes to the 2 Crown Jewels Texas and ATM these same guys seem to be frozen out of those jobs.. Traylor is loyal as frick and a program builder but right now he’s constantly have to beg people to support the program. He alluded to his frustration about it in Tulane post game interview.
