So what is your personal take in this shite show?

We are in the rinse and repeat cycle of purgatory of college football.

If we hire Durk, istg. We will be hiring a new coach in 3 years.

You think it will take 3 years?

Already making molotavs.

I know I’m probably in the minority but I never gave a damn about player retention especially with NIL. I think Cohen put too much stock in it. Hell Summral is a great example he lost 17 starters and is about to win 10 games.
If they want to leave let them go and buy more

This reminds me of when it was floated that we would be hiring Kevin Steele.
If some of the most disappointing seasons and back breaking losses in decades can't galvanize the power brokers to run a serious search without meddling I don't think there is any hope

If we hire durk im done w this clown show and so should a lot of you. We need to pull a Tennessee and throw the middle finger back at this garbage.

From my understanding Cohen then went ahead and offered Durkin AHC and DC with a raise.
Sumrall wanted the opportunity to Interview candidates for dc, but he was likely going to retain DJD anyway. Cohen basically took that option from him though.
Fire Cohen if this is true.

Cohen wholeheartedly believes there would be a mass exodus of players if Durkin was not retained
Who gives a shite. Again, if this is the mindset, fire Cohen

Anyone who is super worried about player retention when hiring a new head coach does not have the proper mindset to be successful in the era of NIL that is modern college football.

Time is a flat circle.

Yup WRs are a dime a dozen hell with a decent QB Malcom Simmons might of been the most productive guy this year we’ll never know.
Losing Atkins at LB would of hurt.
Just give DJ 5mill and buy all the players.
I swear to sweet baby jeebus if we pay Durk more than 6 im becoming a UAB fan

Here's the dumbest part of the "player retention" argument:
LSU, Florida, and Penn State also have "good" players. How come none of these schools is making a hire based off of "player retention"? Doesn't Florida want to retain Lagway, or their star RB? Surely there is an assistant coach or coordinator at these schools that would retain a lot of players off their current roster, no? Aren't they also worried about hypothetically "starting over"?

Just saw this-
So PM from 247 is saying that Auburn offered around 7-8 million for Sumrall and UF came in to offer around 9-10 million and Cohen isn’t budging and probably has moved on. Great.
