It sounds like this thread is getting such a bad response that you're falling back to the "I wasn't serious" excuse. What I'm confused about is how we're supposed to know that this is sarcasm based on the original post? You do noting to hint this as such, so you need to just own up to the fact that this was a shitty idea and move on.

Maybe we can get Stan White and Pat Nix to double up and coach QBs together, you know, since they spent time together when they were players. Maybe Courtney Taylor can come coach receivers and Al Del Greco can coach kickers. I'll volunteer to carry trays of cokes in the upper decks if someone will volunteer to refill the condiment dispensers.

This post is everything that is wrong with AU football right now.

"Let's just hire some former players and win 6 or 7 games a year. As long as they don't cuss and they're good Auburn men that would be awesome"

Frick that.

What if we ignore the fact that if we hire Patrick Nix we can’t recruit Bo?

What if we ignored the fact that OP is awful, and also ignored the fact that your post is wrong as well?

ETA: pissed that I even wasted my time responding to this stupid thread, but the point still stands that if we did hire nix in an on the field spot we could recruit his son.

OP must live directly under high power lines.

You can’t hire a coach from a school that you sign a recruit. Must wait 2 years or so. New rule from last year. Am I missing something?

Yes. If he has an on the field spot, i.e. not an analyst, you can hire him and recruit his entire team if you wish

Seriously, a genie could pop out of a lamp and tell an Auburn fan he can have whatever he wants for the football program

So what'll it be? Saban? Urban?

Auburn fan:

quote:

Auburn canned gus and paid his huge buyout. Hires Patrick nix as head coach. Pays him 1 million a year to recoup some of the lost cash. Nix brings in Kevin greene and takeo spikes on defense. He retains chip Lindsey and allows him to run his offense. Cole cublelic comes onboard to coach the oline.

You guys take shite entirely too serious. I posted that because it would be the Auburn BOT type thing to do in our situation. Apparently they are unable to hire someone who has zero connections to Auburn football. Everyone I can think of that's been a head coach here in my lifetime has either been a former assistant, analyst, player, janitor etc. If you go back and read everything I've posted about getting a new coach I've constantly said, bill Clark, dana holgorsen, jeff frohm. It wasn't a serious post at all. Go get a cold drink, change your tampons and calm down a little.

No way. You're entire post was written like it was a serious thought. Including saving money by hiring Nix and recouping some of the lost cash we spend on firing Malzahn, allowing Chip to actually run his offense, and ending it by Far fetched I know.....but

The only thing that looks like sarcasm is hiring Cole Cublelic, since he has ZERO years of coaching experience, but I've seen other Auburn fans throw his name out as a possibility.

Damn son if you know what my thoughts are maybe you should apply for the coaching position. You would do well calling plays since you would already know what the defense was gonna do. You know since you know what peoples thoughts are and all.
