What evidence is there so far? Old players upset, that's about it. I agree with Pate here that is the case in just about every locker room including UGA, AL.

The best explanation I’ve seen.

ok great. Now what? we have a lame duck coach that will get fired today or in the next few days. Not sure why people are still trying to save Harsin. Ain't gonna happen.

If he is fired, we still have to figure out which malevolent forces were willing to burn down Auburn to get their way.
You can fire the coach but it looks like the cancers to this school are elsewhere.

not really, folks rally that aren't psycho and our program continues. BoT should get some power taken away from them, but won't.
Think there weren't people trying to get Saban gone after his first year too?
ETA: ALSO If we don't have a good cause to fire Harsin, our program is ruined for 3-5 years more...that's why.

We should all support the people that spread the lies to fire him. They rep the AU creed!

More damage was done to AU football by the crappy recruiting then this weird firing.

Personally I'm not sure why some of you fricks are so ready to see the ship sink. Some of you need to kick rocks

No. Bama had the number 1 recruiting class in the nation coming in with a coach that had won a national championship just a few year prior. Plus was the coach that recruited most of the talent on the team that had won the national championship the year before his first season. Don't be dumb.

The sad fact is that if he doesn't have booster support then he is fricked anyway. Especially with the NIL life. We are too far gone. If he stays we are only delaying the inevitable.
It will be impossible to recruit at this point

Why do you think the people that aren't 100% in on Harsin want to see the ship sink? I personally don't think the guy can keep it afloat. I didn't before, but especially now.

I've never wanted Auburn to lose or for the ship to sink. I was sold on Harsin up until the rubber met the road. I bought all in on his sales pitch to the fanbase. However, I'm not stupid and saw the failings happening in real time. When we could get players to visit that we should have been leaders for, when we started failing to close out games, when we didn't sign a single player at any spot of need after having 2 months to recruit.
And at the end of the day it won't be my money it'll be those evil PTB's that burn down anything. I'm just a fan and will be as much tomorrow as I am today and as I was in 2010.

The real question is how do we take the power away from the BoT with regards to Athletics?
I still don't want 3 years of an even worse coach.

Step up and donate about 10-12 million a year every year and they will let you in the club. Good Luck.

yes or no. Does him being in trouble have anything to do with -
not taking the shot.
Shenanigans with his 20 something year old football assistant
Just rubbing people the wrong way.
Or other.

No one knows the truth on any of those so we can't comment.
What we do know is the measurables. 6-7 season. horrible even for a first year coach with the talent he had on the roster.
18th in recruiting. horrible by AU standards

It’s a catch 22 for us fans. For the program we need to hope the bad rumors are true, to save the credibility of the whole program. But, I would never wish that on anybody, so I’ll just wait and let things fall out as they may. I have no control over anything anyway. My mind, in the meantime, will focus on march madness

If there was a fireable offense, that should come to light fairly quickly. And I’m sorry to draw the comparison, but this echoes so similarly to false accusations laid against a sitting president which were repeated and amplified to the point where even after the truth came out it didn’t matter. The reputation was doomed. Nobody was held accountable either. The “elites“ got there pound of flesh and look what it got them.
Never wise to read too much into completely unrelated situations, but if there is nothing to these stories then I hope Auburn fans have very long memories.
I for one will.

Pate summed up the whole situation as well as I have seen and I agree with everything he said. The most frustrating part is that everyone has already picked their sides and the same arguments are being had in every thread now. Nobody is actually talking about any of things that he mentioned.
The people that are saying Harsin should be fired for on the field performance during the year, do not have a leg to stand on IMO. I don't care how bad the record was, or how mad we are at recruiting, one year is just not enough to make any final determinations. So we signed a bunch of 3 stars in this class? Maybe we found a bunch of players like Roger McCreary, Daniel Thomas, Courtney Taylor, and Jarquez Hunter? We have no idea yet. The 6-7 record sucks. But that record is probably 8-4 or 9-3 with a healthy QB. Either way, Harsin has to be given more time. If the decisions are really as poor as everyone says then you can point at the record in 2022 and 2023 as proof, but you can't fire they guy because of what you think will happen in the future.
The comment that it is so bad now, that there is no coming back from it, is crap IMO as well. You can't just stir shite up, and then point at the disaster you just created as evidence to fire someone.
Either there is evidence that supports a for cause firing or the power brokers aren't happy with the hire and trying to force a change. I have yet see any actual evidence of the first and I refuse to be okay with dragging Harsin and the University through the mud because people aren't happy with how year 1 turned out.

Yeah, as Josh Pate said, this is the poison pill tactic. You float a story to damage someone and when it is later proven bogus, it's too late to matter. Everyone says "Well he has to go because there's no coming back from the damage the rumors have done to the institution." So, the shite stirrers start a rumor and end up getting their way because of the damage their bogus rumors have done (which was their intention from the start).
This kind of thing is done all the time in politics.
