I would not be surprised if that happened. Winning the IB is a big deal at Auburn.

CAN HIRE GOOD ASSISTANTS that can
- Recruit Players
- Develop Players
- Have a winning attitude
- Adjust before a half & coach positions during the game
- Players Respect
Keep good talent retained
Good game day coach
Fit into Auburn & Embrace it
Hard arse
Players Respect him
Positive Attitude
Willing to change O or D if it doesn't work down the road (no stagnation)

Consider this.
Gus started the fall.
Not one coach since Gus has solved the major problem surrounding offensive line play.
One quarterback leaves Auburn, gets close to playing for national title and now is of the top quarterbacks in the NFL…….all he did was run for his life at Auburn. Talented quarterbacks are not the problem.

Roster retention
Coach retention
I care little about either of these, especially coach retention. I would like to keep Cam and a few guys on D, but that's it.

*Talent recruitment & evaluation, and applying talent to task
*Organization & attention to detail
*Game Planning Strategy. The ability to dissect opponent weaknesses and exploit them, and make in-game adjustments
*Ability to teach and cultivate physical toughness
this. (and run a modern, grown up offense )
do this and player retention will take care of itself. don't make a decision base on what you "think" a bunch of 18,19, 20 year olds are going to do. It's unknowable.

Head coaching experience: We were Pat Dye’s third HC job
Recruiting: can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shite
Hard arse coach: need tough players to win close games
