Worth repeating that like most things, just because they haven’t told the fans everything that is going on, doesn’t mean that nothing is going on. Other than satisfying our fandom’s bloodlust, no AD is going to give the fanbase weekly/daily updates just for the hell of it.

Not saying fire, but everyone on 6 of the 7 continents knows Hugh Freeze is failing in historical fashion. Give us an update AD. He knows good and damn well everyone is talking about it.

I’m currently listening to scumbag on Tigertalk and I don’t know whether to laugh, cry, or scream.

What honestly are yall expecting the AD to say? I’m curious. He already made a statement last week. Are we expecting a weekly “I’m not firing him this week” status report?

Revisiting this one. Saw a clip of Hugh from yesterday. They asked what a vote of confidence would mean from the AD. Hugh said it would be huge.

So Hugh is wanting to hear from the AD as well.

Why is there such a disconnect between our Athletic Department and our fan base??

What disconnect? The the AD didn't say he would be fired on Monday.

It’s almost as if the PTB really haven’t a clue…

Hugh wants to hear he isn’t getting fired at all. That isn’t happening. So if Cohen’s statement from last week hasn’t changed, what is the purpose of making another statement every week? The AD isn’t going to come out and say Hugh is going to be fired at the end of the season. So, either he is fired or Cohen’s statement he has made is the statement. Since he isn’t fired, revert back to Cohen’s statement, until something changes.

ETA: I guess my confusion is this, is there a statement Cohen can make that isn’t announcing Hugh has been fired, that is acceptable to you?

Im not sure if you have been paying attention, but the PTB dont care one bit about the fans. The support Freeze still has is from the people that will pay the buyout and the guy who would have to conduct the search after firing him. Fanbase buy-in doesn't register to these people.

Sorry, but you are completely wrong. There has not been a single case anywhere of a coach who survived terminal fanbase apathy because someone with money allegedly "liked them". Brand power and fanbase morale are the absolute lifeblood of any college program. Once a coach starts tarnishing that, he is gone. Period. End of discussion.

Also, the absolute easiest way to re-engage a fanbase is to hire a new coach. It doesn't even really matter who you hire. A new coach means a honeymoon period where everything is fresh and novel again.

Hugh has whined and complained and sounded like a beta so much the last month that any of his recruiting strengths are unusable and his hire unredeemable.

Given yesterday's Freeze press-conference, do the select few of you who seem to still believe that he apparently has undying support from the PTB want to reconsider your position LOL?

In case you missed it: Freeze hasn't spoken to Cohen since the Missouri game, and he is now publicly pleading for a vote of confidence. Also, Cohen has stopped attending and/or is missing from his post-game press conferences.

Gee, this totally sounds like a guy who the PTB absolutely LOVE! Paul Finebaum said he still has support!

Hint: if your coach is actively pleading for support, it means he absolutely does not have the support that some of you seem to foolishly think he does.

Don’t disagree. Im not arguing for keeping him as our coach. I just don’t have a problem with our AD getting things in place before moving on. Seems a lot of our fans assume because they haven’t specifically been told something, it doesn’t exist.

I’ve seen enough advocating here to fire the whole offensive staff at different points. So, I just don’t see the point in firing Hugh right now and handing things over to them completely on offense if they are that bad. Team is still competing, so until that isn’t the case or the rails fall off, I don’t think making a move mid season to appease fan bloodlust is worth much. Work on where we move on to and once that is at least mostly solidified, move on when necessary.

Cohen believes we're about to go on a 3-4 game winning streak. If he fires Freeze, and that happens, he has to worry about the fanbase screaming for Durkin to get the job.

Since when do they ever give a shite what we think? There is zero worry about the fanbase wanting Durkin even if we win the rest of our games by 50 points. They do what they want, and from our last decade's experience, they do not do what is best for Auburn.

So there is nothing he can say you’ll accept but you want him updating you with statements weekly? Got it, glad we cleared that up

I don't either, if that's what happening. I think the angst comes from past coaching searches where we wait to fire a coach everyone knows is gone, most of our top targets are by then hired at other programs or extended, we pursue plan C in a highly publicized, ham-fisted campaign, get turned down very publicly and then pay out the nose for someone like Dan Mullen or Les Miles.

I hope Cohen is a better AD than that.

100%. If that isn’t what is going on, riots and mayhem will be acceptable.
