I don’t know because I don’t judge coaches on their road record against SEC opponents. I also don’t judge coaches on their bowl record. I judge coaches on their overall accomplishments. I don’t understand using weird records like that to judge a coach.

If Gus’ road record is worse, wouldn’t his home record be better since they look pretty even overall?

Tubs won the SEC once. Got screwed out of a shot for the National title.
Gus won the SEC once. Had us in a position to win a National title

I probably remember the Tubs years fonder than Gus’ years but if I had to pick a coach right now, I’d probably go Malzahn. But they’re close.

I also don’t understand the vendetta’s y’all build up for some coaches/players that didn’t work out perfectly. Harsin deserves hate. Gus doesn’t.

rounHallerIf we can beat 2 out of OU, GA, TAMU, Missouri, Bama, I would say Freeze has learnt how to use his weapons.

That is all going to depend on how he plays them. 2 out of 5 is not doing well against that group. That’s not beating our rivals.

I still miss Mike Shula too.

Gus let the O-line go to seed and that blew the Bo Nix era.

He had a winning record vs Saban, and he didn’t get owned by Richt like Gus did.

I’m not saying Tubs was great, but you never went into a season chalking up thUGA and uat as a loss before they even played a game like you did with Gus.

The thing I missed about Tubs was, I knew Auburn had a shot to win every game. No matter how outmatched, we always had a shot for the upset.

Gus, I knew we were in for a pummeling every trip to Athens, even though we should be able to hang.

With CTT there was always hope… the mediocrity of Gus damn near killed my love of football

I dont know why it was so hard on him to prepare to replace

I honestly believe this is because wouldn't do NIL before NIL was legal. That's the only thing that makes sense with all of the signing day flips.

the above, compounded by his apparent unwavering belief that it was the X's and O's.

Same here. Although I'm 35 and Tubs was my first coach.

The linked arms, the click-clack, and his matches against Bama and LSU were what I liked.

Athens - leaves a bad taste - even if it's Athens, Greece.

Checked and Tubs won both of his two Clemson games. Not to say it makes him better, but it did hurt when that win-string was broken.

Comparing Tubbs Clemson games to Gus Clemson games is pretty much the most "Anti-Gus" thing ever

It's like saying Tubbs did better against Alabama than Gus did.

If people arent going to appreciate Gus's championship years then they must undergo an even further extended rebuild without such great years before they can appreciate those years.

It's unfortunate it has to come to that but going to the championship game doesn't grow on trees.
