I usually keep a couple pounds in the freezer because it makes the best tacos.

W the panic buying hysteria, I now concede to Rocky that people buying a year supply of toilet paper over this are probably worse. If we don't have toilet paper supply in a year, we got bigger problems

I was in Publix today at 7 and the only meat available was chicken gizzards, beef roasts, and chorizo sausage. I wanted to grill burgers for lunch...
Freezer full of deer and garden stuff is looking better every day.

I buy the fresh stuff from Publix. Take it out of the tubes and scramble it on the griddle. Makes some awesome breakfast burritos.

When you think about, everything we’re doing to slow/stop the spread of Coronavirus is a slap in the face to natural selection.

I mean we are going to destroy millions of lives to keep people who were going to die in 2020 or 2021 from dying in March of 2020.

The measures that have been put in place are not only to protect the old and immunocompromised, but also to help prevent viral mutations and the additional stress on our healthcare system. We don't need this virus to linger around for months

I thought this was becoming more about spreading out the peak load for hospitals.
With a longer transmission rate being favored by those in charge?

It’s a layered benefit. Slower infection rates reduces healthcare burden, and buys us time to the vaccine and (longer term) herd immunity. Generaly speaking, health outcomes will also likely improve the longer we study and treat the illness. That’s true for any illness but critical for novel diseases

If we spike like Italy, Spain, S Korea, we not only run the risk of overwhelming the healthcare system but we also will start seeing more intense disruptions of our daily lives. There’s a lot of benefits even if it seems disruptive already. It still sucks. It’s going to feel mostly unnecessary for many of us.

Testing is still important. It’s still helpful to know who. It’s helpful for surveillance data. Testing as a means of preventing spread is now lost here and probably was lost many, many weeks ago.

Wife is less panicked now than several days ago. Still scared but they’re learning so much by the hour.

We may already have a covid preventative drug that can be deployed before a covid vaccine is made.

quote:

Summary
Recent guidelines from South Korea and China report that chloroquine is an effective antiviral therapeutic treatment against Coronavirus Disease 2019. Use of chloroquine (tablets) is showing favorable outcomes in humans infected with Coronavirus including faster time to recovery and shorter hospital stay. US CDC research shows that chloroquine also has strong potential as a prophylactic (preventative) measure against coronavirus in the lab, while we wait for a vaccine to be developed. Chloroquine is an inexpensive, globally available drug that has been in widespread human use since 1945 against malaria, autoimmune and various other conditions.

We can go to Mexico where they're still legal. But with Mexico shutting down the border, we'll need to find a Cartel tunnel to use. Thanks alot SARS the Sequel

this photo is at the bottom of the screen and I just really enjoy it.

That said. This is kind of funny...

quote:

These pandemic profiteers have become internet pariahs.

Brothers Matt and Noah Calvin admit in a New York Times interview that they bought up all of the hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes that they could find across Tennessee and Kentucky after the first U.S. coronavirus death was reported on March 1, with the intent to resell them at a profit as public panic around COVID-19 kicked in. They cleaned out small shops and dollar stores, as well as Walmart WMT, +9.65%, Staples and Home Depot HD, +7.91% and began listing their items on Amazon AMZN, +6.46% at a “substantial” markup.

“It was crazy money,” Matt Colvin reportedly told the Times, revealing that his first 300 bottles of hand sanitizer sold out for between $8 and $70 apiece almost immediately — multiples of the prices he had paid for them. He also sold 2,000 50-packs of face masks on eBay for $40 to $50, sometimes higher. (In fact, the story notes that Colvin, a former Air Force technical sergeant, derives a six-figure income from selling Nike NKE, +1.86% sneakers, pet toys and trending products on Amazon.)

But Amazon pulled his items and thousands of other listings for hand sanitizers, face masks and wipes, the Times noted, to combat price gouging.

Grob the Realist has made me uneasy about crossing the border with illegal drugs anymore. Those days are over. Cutting an hour off between taking ibuprofen tablets is my new reckless behavior.

Wife needed TP and bleach, just for normal day-to-day life. She sent me photos of WM all shelves empty. Stopped by the Family Dollar in Magnolia Springs on the way home, and it had everything. Almost felt bad buying a 8 pack of TP and two gal of bleach, with what is on the internet.

Put me in the camp of way overblown, but all neighbors out in the street today, and it was as if we were having conversations with each other. Kids playing outside, etc. Maybe something good has come from the "panic".

6 cases of hot beer, and two boxes of wine under the bed....just in case.

You deserve more upvotes btw. Wasn't it Auburn that solved Ebola or something? I remember one of you going to the rant and spiking the football on them, thought it was ebola.
