So you’re saying the healthy majority should quarantine themselves to their homes so that the vulnerable can go about their daily lives?

You are one who has showed his ignorance quite often on this subject.

If everybody isolated themselves for two weeks, two fricking weeks our of your life, we would get ahead of this virus. In that time frame, people who have it would know and not pass it along to other people............hence, stop the spreading of it.

Because I dislike your bullshite idea of a voluntary quarantine from everyone?

Are you going to give me your PTO and pay my bills?

It's not my bullshite idea. It's what the health officials, who know what they are doing, are asking of us.

I notice you ignored this.........

How do you figure when I completely addressed this:

If everybody isolated themselves for two weeks, two fricking weeks our of your life, we would get ahead of this virus.

And I noticed you ignored my question of who is going to pay my bills.

You obviously don't give a shite that this being passed along at an alarming rate and other peoples lives are being affected drastically by it........so I don't give a damn about your bills.

ETA we could become this. It's all of our choice

You’re Goddamn right. My labor puts food on my family’s table. You can set me up an online account and donate your monthly income to Jangalang or STFU.

Let's revisit this if your life is affected by this in any way........which it will if we don't get a handle on it.

ETA and if you can't go two weeks without a paycheck, sorry to hear that.

But it also isnt the black plague. I personally know 3 people who retired the past year, and the mass hysteria has severely impacted their ability to enjoy what they worked 40 years to build.

ETA:

There needs to be more common sense here. Shutting down businesses for a respiratory infection is too much.

It’s important to point out that the decisions being made right now are not by us. They’re made largely by elected officials we’ve entrusted to represent us. They’re doing their best with what they have to work with. I have no reason to believe that anyone uniquely benefits from the measures being taken. I really hope not, at least.

We will disagree with those decisions being made and we’ll disagree with reach other. But we’re all in this whether we like it or not. We may as well be kind to each other until it’s over with

I can only imagine a minuscule percentage of families are like that.

I know there are people out there who live check to check. I hate it for them and keep them in my prayers. Like I said, if drastic measures aren't taken we will become this....

This virus is the most serious thing I have seen in my lifetime. I was young, but I remember people building bomb shelters in their backyard.

We have overly cautious medical doctors running our country right now. Good for our health, bad for probably everything else.

Again, if we had actually tested everyone who has had the virus, you would see this virus fall in line with similar respiratory viruses in terms of mortality. Stop acting like half the country will die from it.

I love how everybody is an expert.

Health experts, who study stuff like this for a living, are the ones who are saying this is more serious than the flu. Their influence is why sports leagues, casinos, Disney, Universal type things are shutting down..........all over the world.

......but you know more than them?

You continue to laugh at people saying it’s a very small risk to young people. Then last time I pointed that out you said nothing.

If you look at the same site you quote for your death rate, it backs up the fact that it’s mainly killing old people.

Again I ask why a factual statement is so dumb to you?

It is like every other political hot topic. You have the extreme sides playing tug of war, and those of us in the middle having to deal with their crazy extreme opinions.

I pointed out that this virus doesn't discriminate with age. Young healthy people may not be at great risk of death, but young infected people will pass it along to people who are at great risk.

ETA why don't people understand that the only way to get rid of this virus, because at the moment we have no cure, is to isolate the virus, whether it is to a high risk or low risk person, and let the virus run it's course with said individual?

ETA to the ETA and right now there are people infecting others and neither knows they are sick.

This thread is a perfect example of why the measures that are requested for the public to follow will fail miserably.

I don’t know why the topic has to bring the morality police. It’s just a conversation. Sacrifices can be made by all but to some there is a bigger price. But I’m out. You can change the thread title back.

Company I work at has 60-70 hourly employees who make good, living wages to support their families. All of them are about to be scaled back considerably and 20-30 of them are going to sent home entirely until this crisis slows. Is our ownership group supposed to just write them their last pay check and say sorry for your troubles? They have families to feed.
