Bro, all you need is a SID that adds them to the team resume.

All the sunshine pumping in the world can't get me to expect a great season.

yep, defense gonna carry the team... all the way back to Birmingham.
we are fricked unless JFIII is tougher than he looks or our Woody shows up harder than a diamond in an ice storm. I have zero faith in Gus adjusting the passing game/play calling to suit White.

If 40 year old Peyton Manning was Auburn's quarterback in 2016, Gus Malzahn would still run read option.

Gus could completely destroy that arrogant bastard's confidence in about 10 minutes flat.

It's amazing how short some of yalls memories are.

Lining up in the shotgun and handing off to a RB standing next to you =/= read option
Gus made TTs arse quit.

He's gone off the deep end here lately. Poor guy must've taken diddy's resurrection hard.
Also, SW ran the read option pretty well against MSU last year when he was still healthy and had 80 something yards before the OL imploded and let him get sacked about 4 or 5 times with just enough time to drop back before he got hit.

-- Playing more slot receiver than running back is a trend that is likely to continue for Roc Thomas. In addition to his obvious speed and athleticism, he has very good hands, maybe the best on the team, and runs very good routes.
This right here makes me happy. Roc is an elite athlete if we use him right. Dude could be deadly from the slot and on some sweeps

The unanimous opinion is that the biggest surprise position of the spring was linebacker. It’s still a concern, but it’s because only Tre’ Williams has significant playing experience. Sophomores Deshaun Davis and Darrell Williams showed they have the skills and the makeup to play at a high level. Sophomore Montavious Atkinson had some shining moments, too.
I will say the last 2 times I have seen our LB core is some of the fastest LB play I have seen in awhile. If T-Will can get them to play with half his intensity and heart we will be ok

Outfielder Sam Gillikin, one of the South’s top recruits back in 2012, plans to return to the Auburn baseball team in 2017 for his final year of eligibility. Gillikin, a lifelong Auburn fan, was drafted out of Hoover High School in the 31st round by the Atlanta Braves. But he chose to attend Auburn instead.
Gillikin got off to a hot start last season but was later benched by previous head coach Sunny Golloway and decided to pass up his final season. He finished last season with a .271 batting average. He will be welcomed with open arms by first-year coach Butch Thompson.
thanks a lot Golloway....
I don't know with this team. I see pieces that make me super excited but I am still scared about the offense. Last season reminded me of the 2nd half of 2011 where it seemed like we had no rhythm or idea what we wanted to do. I don't think we are the dumpster fire many think but I have also been burned bad past 2 seasons in thinking we would be in hunt for Atlanta till the end of the season...
So basically I will not be shocked if we won the West or finished dead last. It seems nothing has really changed about AU football

then again if the read option was that successful and we stopped running it and started dropping back more was it really the OL that imploded or our playcaller. Gus is working hard on making my arse quit. our biggest weakness on offense is predictability above ALL else.

I really hate the on and off tempo. 99% of the time it results in a loss of yardage or broken play / mishandled snaps. We used to break long runs with Mason going tempo but now it just looks broken and makes us look confused. It doesn't tire anyone but the OL and RB.

I liked that too. It's sorta tough hearing your football coach literally say he's got to get back to being a football coach, though.
I think we easily forget Malzahn has been a head coach for all of 5 years. It takes some guys a whole career to truly understand what it takes to be an effective head coach of a program.
