Why you bringing that AL. shite in here?

Every season is tough, every season has the-cheaters from Tuscaloosa (who you have to beat both on and off the field). There's always either a very good LSU or Georgia and of course amen-corner. It's a SEC-West schedule so it's far easier to say who doesn't suck than who does. Yes, the hardest two games are away, but the only other two are in Mississippi and these shouldn't cause great overall fear. The opener while stout is in essence an at home.

Read's like click-bait - gee thanks!

I mean it was reasonable. We should temper our expectations. We can only hope that we get up for these games. Only then can we hope to go through the season with less than 3 losses. Under Gus we historically don’t play very well away from our friendly confines against quality competition. This season may require several strong drinks.

Once again I think a lot of people here are using emotion and not looking at our opponent. Washington is a very good team with a very good coach. Ranked in the top 5 for a reason. Just like they did with UCF last year. I remember some of those conversations.

We basically have a brand new offense with zero snaps together.

You’re missing my point...

Regardless of the outcome, fans will blame the coach.

Can anyone provide an example of Auburn just losing a “hell of a game” and no one blame the coach?

Depends on which fans you are talking about. This board? Never happens.

Auburn people are the most reasonable fans I have ever seen. WE don't expect to win every game. But we expect our team to be well coached and look sharp.

Example: When I was walking out of the rose bowl (after the fsu loss) with thousands of Auburn fans....no one was bitching about the play calls, etc. We were just saying how we hated that that was the last time that we would get to see that particular group of kids play together.

vs

The crapfest I saw vs Clempson and LSU and georgia last year.

We have great facilities, great fans, great players, and a great league that gives us lots of national attention.

We just need a great coach. I am believing that Gus will mature into that coach. I hope I am right. But as an Auburn fan, I should never see "eggs laid" on a football field.

I don't mean this to sound smartass, but it will.

Can you provide a recent example where we played a good game without obvious coaching dumbassedness that we lost?

2009 and 2014 Iron Bowls come to mind. Solid game plans in both and players played well (except for the 2014 defense), we just weren't able to win.

You guys act like no other coach in history has made mistakes and help lose games for the team before with their actions or play calling. I can name a few that Nick Saban has done for Alabama and he is arguably the best there has been.

Coaches, all coaches, make mistakes. You have to take the good with the bad and every time a coach does something stupid, you can fire his arse and hire someone else. You are going to get mistakes with every coach. You have to weigh the good and bad

You dont have to sell me on this. I have been around longer than most here.

We should have never lost that game. Im glad that some people were OK with what happened but I was not. I do blame that loss on Gus. You can not lose that game, the national Championship game, under those circumstances. Its not like Utah State mess up or losing to UGA when you should not. Its the championship game.

I left there pissed and the drive to Phoenix and flight back to Atlanta was the most miserable thing I have ever experienced with the team.
